I'm still a bit uncertain about what more Dwarmin wants. In case no one noticed.

It's been a awfully long time since a RTD both looked interesting to me and I found it before it was totally absolutely full. So here is a dude for the game/waitlist.

Name: Made for Sky Travel, Reconnaissance and Intelligence from the Killers and Explorers Robot series. Striker. (Designation number 3, although few enough STRIKERS are still around that normally he just goes without.)

I can't say exactly, but he tends to be very RP- and fluff-heavy, both as a player and as a GM. He probably wants to see that you've crafted a genuine character you're willing to explore and take places with inside the world and alongside the other players, not just thrown a name and some options at a sheet so you can spam "I attack and/or loot it" for fifty turns.

As far as matching the setting, I believe "sentient robots deal with issues of being not-quite-humans and things going to hell in a supercity located in a post-apocalyptic wasteland" is the gist of it. If you want more specifics, you'll need to ask about them, but he's probably pretty open to you inventing things as they relate to your own backstory. See: Errol's Arma series, which now appears to be not only canon but expanded upon, and my attempts to create three separate OID lines, which we'll see on.

Also, mostly unrelated: I believe the tools/equipment/etc section is for the "starts off with X tool/weapon/armor that can be discarded/upgraded/replaced" part, not just general equipment. Techoids don't start off with any of those. That's what Dwarmin meant by the second part of his reply.

I can summarize my plan in two words:

"Tabula Rasa"

Robots lend themselves well to such things, and I intended it to help me with the whole "don't understand the setting" thing.

Snd as to the last: Ah.

IO's got the right of it, GWG. My story is fleshed out with the players input. And you intended to have an amnesia-bot, why not show me that idea in your char sheet? I dont require novels, but I like to think people are going to enjoy their chars, enjoy writing about their chars.

...

Humm. I suppose I'll take Ironyowl and Criptfeind.

Though I feel bad not taking Harry Baldman, I also know I really cannot overdo my player slots. I've done that in all my games before and it's never turned out very well...

Also, I'll rewrite the description for Techoid. It dose seem a bit confusing, I guess.

Anyway, will toss around sheets in the char and waiting lists. Again, if anyone has any lore questions, I'd love to answer them :P

Name: Omnicron Combat Platform, serial designation 3389-5673-468, nickname "Brick"

    Design: Mechoid

    Element(S): Standard

Bio: The Omnicron Combat Platform is a venerable military design, having entered production around 2020 and performing well into current times. It's no secret that the series has performed admirably over the years with few revisions on the core design. One of the first few robotic designs that utilised a "Bipedal" locomotive system that has aged over the years. Designed as a cheap, effective replacement for the standard infantryman, The Omnicron is a robust, tough unit that can march through a hail of fire and still come out in a repairable state, all for a small fraction of the cost of a combat "oid". While the targets have gotten tougher over the years, the platform's adaptability for new and/or improvised weaponry has seen it still holding onto the title as The icon of a military unit.

The low cost doesn't come without it's own flaws though; The motivators are both noisy and clunky, leading to the Omnicron being a rather unsubtle option. While it boasts considerable spotting power, the basic computers onboard are far below that of a standard "Oid", leading to slower target acquisition and reduced autonomy. What it does excel in makes them powerful: They're cheap, easy to produce and maintain, well armoured and still having the ability to be adapted for a myriad of roles.

The company that owns the schematics and patents for the OCP, Named Omnicron as a tribute to their first product, has cut back on production numbers since the end of the mutant wars, citing that without demand for any new platforms they would be a loss for the company to produce. It still serves as a primary go-to company for a lot of goods though: household "drones", industrial loading bots, maintenence equipment and military armaments. The company's design department has an exemplary design history; Cooking up not only the famous OCP, but a myriad of other household names as well. Yet for all this, it never caught onto the "oid" trend, though recently it has started contracting outside sources for a few new designs in development. The only "Oid" product the produce is a retrofit package for most older-model robots, enabling a hobbyist to create their own 'Oids (Though the very same company they had outsourced Oid development to made the retrofit packs for them, Omnicron just receives a cut for acting as a supplier)

In addition to this, Omcicron offers a full retrofit service for OCPs that have served within the armed forces for five years within the govvernment. Though while it's rarely take, "Decommisioned" models find themslves back at Omnicron's factories, leaving with a full oid suite installed within them as a "retirement" bonus. Most OCPs that have received the upgrade tend to have a rudimentry memory of their past actions, though rarely feel a connection to them. These units still suffer from the physical flaws of their body, but they are far more resilient against trickery and efforts to sway them. These upgraded units tend to find themselves back in the military or law enforcement, where their durability tends to put them in front-line roles.

"Brick" would be one of the rare few upgraded OCPs that found themselves in a civilian job, as a shop assistant. While it's customer service abilities may be deemed "sub-par", the fact it's more able to carry heavy loads, along with being able to restock the various shelves without complaint and being generally shoplifter-proof. While a manager or two may have had a call to Omnicron's customer service department, those calls were rebuffed due to a lack of proof of purchase, and thus summarily dismissed by them. "Brick" happens to go about life with a plodding demeanour, not caring too much about anything, so long as everything remains peaceful. Though with recent events, that looks like it will change...

Tools/Equipment/Weapons: Two elbow-based blades. Two hands to allow for versatility in loadouts, Optical sensor has alternative modes, including IR and low-light vision. Integrated communications suite allows basic network communication. Primitive speech module, while able to work, has the unit sound more noticibly robotic than most.

    Desc:
    Desired Alignment: Government.

Then buff up your Description. At the moment we have 'humanoid' and 'top-of-the-line' for visualizing the bot. Mine who is also just made has 'green light combat armor' 'human female' 'black vizor' 'red hair' 'green eyes' 'breasts' and 'wolverine fire claws'.

Can't Techoids change their shape enough that specific descriptions aren't worth much due to how much they can change? That's how I read it.

Uh, I'm not going to argue with you before the game even starts GWG. Or at all. Please don't take it personally. But I'm not arguing my choices with you or why.

As the GM of the game I am currently running, I can choose who I want to play. Your character didn't seem interesting to me compared to the others-apparently a freshly built mass produced Oid with total amnesia. Your personality is two words. I'm sorry you didn't get in, but I've only limited amount of people to accept and keep my sanity.

Really, really sorry? It's partially on me because I could have written Techoids much better, and will rewrite it soon enough.

No more on this, please.

Can't Techoids change their shape enough that specific descriptions aren't worth much due to how much they can change? That's how I read it.

That do have a baseline body that they prefer to stay in, though-which can be pretty imaginative, since their bodies can be almost anything. See, I thought people would read 'malleable holographic image' and get this right off the bat...

Coretar or whatever her name from Halo seem to be a Techoid. Her form seem to stay the same. Or if we need to stay in megaman, megaman starforce? the one with the P.E.T system, every bot was a techoid and had a hardlight body that didn't change. Or if you guy is a shapesfither, Alex mercer had a base form he returned to, so what would your guy's base form be?

Alright, heres the basic sheets for the players.

Tell me if this is terribly confusing or what. Or if you actually like it.
I always write too much! But in this case, I've based alot of the mechanics on D&D. Which will certainly keep me from going insane.
