Probably thats why they are used with pentagrams on covers of Satanic Black Metal albums.

Shadowrun Genesis

YES! Shadowrun Genesis for days! Also, Mechwarrior Mercenaries, I have it on my iPod whenever we get hit by IDF blasting in my vehicle while conducting PAR sweeps (Afghanistan). Shadowrun for post attack, Mechwarrior music during an attack, now if I just had an actual Mech, life would be complete.

Bastion and Cave Story (the original, not so much with the remastered one) have my two favorite soundtracks from video games. Bastion is just so pretty, especially the songs with vocals, while Cave Story is catchy in its own way.

Banjo Kazooie. In addition to the soundtrack, the way the game would switch between different versions of the same track, tailored to each of the environs you'd go through, perfectly seamlessly, was phenomenal.

I'll second Shadowrun and Arcanum and raise you a Castlevania Symphony of the Night.  Can't believe that one hasn't been mentioned yet.

Oh, and FF6.  Can't forget that one.

PTW, so I can download ALL of those later!

I'm not very knowledgeable in soundtracks, but Bastion and Diablo (the first one) always hold a special place in my heart. I also remember Warcraft II fondly, but I can't enjoy it as much nowadays.

Machinarium has the best soundtrack, followed closely by Sword & Sworcery LP.

Actually, it seems fitting to plug OCRemix here. It's... well, an archive of remixed video game music.

Here, have some zelda to get you started.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

Even though I never played it, Anachronox has an amazing soundtrack. I found it years ago while trawling for gaming music to play during D&D sessions, and it's been in my playlist ever since.

I might as well link this here. I've been using this site for years to find obscure and ancient soundtracks to video games and anime.

http://gh.ffshrine.org/

I make no statements about the legality of this site. It's obviously an issue, because of the things you WONT find on there, like music from Square games or games published directly by Nintendo. I also haven't used the site in years so browse at your own risk....that said, it has given me dozens, if not hundreds, of game tracks.

Beyond the Beyond has a great soundtrack.  So does Descent 1.

Also, the best title screen theme to a game is Skate or Die 2:

Homeworld: Cataclysm.   While all the Homeworld games had great music, Cataclysm's was simply the best.  Especially the piece at the beginning of the first mission, I still listen to that one these days.

Elsword has an absolutely godly OST. From hype-inducing boss themes to atmospheric field music.

I'd personally say either Persona 4 or Dark Souls.

Pretty much every shin megami tensei and persona game ever. The whole series is known for its godly soundtrack.
Valkyrie Profile (whole series) also had a really awesome soundtrack. Age of Wonders I & II also has godly soundtrack, but the first one really stands out. Basicaly the best western fantasy themed soundtrack ever, and I heard they're bringing the guy who made it to AoW III's team which made me really, really happy.
