But that's not a game, really. It's a chatroom. :-\
Don't get me wrong, I love a good bit of virtual criminal mischief as much as the next person, I've just never much liked GTA's silliness. The combination of an open gameworld, the exciting multiplayer setup with a consistent 16 players just roaming around doing their own thing, and the (hopefully) extensive character customization is what's sold me here.

Aaaanyway, just fixed my Social Club account. No idea what the hell went wrong with it, but whatever. Gonna join the crew now.

Rockstar released more info on the online portion. Heists with a planning board are confirmed now, although from their wording they may not be there on release day. Or they may mean that they will be adding more heists. It's not perfectly clear.

This really does sound cool, can't wait for the (hopefully inevitable) PC release.

Speaking of which, it looks like neither can most PC gamers... GTA: San Andreas is the most popular game on the pirate bay right now. :P

Any usb headset will work IIRC. I mean, it won't transmit ingame sound through the earcups, but it will work as an input output for VOIP. I think even without you can still set it to hear what everyone else is saying though.

Ya, but hard to plan a heist withough being able to talk, although reading the linked post, heists are deffinitly post-release content.

EDIT: Hmm, is the official playstion bluetooth headset worth the 40 bucks? Don't wanna break the bank, but want a good quality

I don't know how people are calling this a short game. I completed GTA IV in under 20 hours easily with all the side content. I was a little over 60 hours in GTA V and I've still got a fair bit of side content left to complete. Your first mission wasn't taking your cousin home in his taxi, either, which was nice. Very pretty game, world feels lived in for a single player open world, decent variety of stuff to do.

It is the best golf/stripclub/stockmarket simulator I have ever played.

Which one is that, exactly? The little on-ear one? I had one of those, it was awfully fiddly. I suppose if you're used to dealing with wireless things that need plugging in it'd be okay... but having to plug it in (and not being able to use it as it charges) is a pain in the butt.

I have a semi-official wired headset, by some company called 4gamers- it is an authorized Playstation product, though.
It works pretty damn nicely. The cord gets a little tangled, but that's probably more my lack of care than anything. I don't know much about headsets, but it has a good mic on a bendy stalk thing, and a nifty feature of two switches to adjust the headset 'game' and 'chat' volume.
I generally just mute my TV and play through the headset. :P

Edit: Oh yeah, and it was just $40. Seems reasonable enough to me. I'm not an expert on headsets though, but being designed specifically for PS3 is a plus.

I have to admit it was awesome for the game to even admit to their own progression trope in the beginning.

I've also had a lot of fun when switching to Trevor.

Also I am totally up for being a get away driver for those of us on PS3.  I'll totally bring the up-armored, high speed cars to get people out of jams if called.
