I find it hilarious that when San Andreas came out there was the huge outcry over the "hot coffee" thing, with the poorly graphiced sex scenes hidden somewhere in the code. And now, we have several full on cable-porn level sex scenes, as well as interactive, topless lap dances, yet look, still rated M. (not complaining about the latter, just the prior).

Luckily for us Jack Thompson has long since been discredited even among his supporters.

I'm glad that, here in Australia, we have an 'R' rating now to keep games with such a profusion of adult themes separate.
At the same time, I'm somewhat saddened that it makes no difference anyway. :P Saw a friend's kid brother posting on Facebook about getting the game. Oh well.

At the same time it ALSO doesn't matter because they still like to ban "R" rated games even with the R-rating.

I wish that people who haven't played the game or played for a few moments would stop telling people how the game is. For example, whomever said it's short is high or woefully misinformed. It's a minimum of 30hrs of straight gameplay with excellent story and missions. GTA IV was a steaming pile of crap and this game is a true gem. There is no comparison really.

Hemmingjay are we including a main story blitz? Because, frankly, most sandbox games you can EASILY finish the main story in... honestly a few hours (Sometimes one).

I'm sure that the topic of digging through GTA V files is boring and interests no one, but I'll post about it again.

In the folder containing configuration files related to the controls (of the XBOX 360's version), there's a file called "setting.meta", which apparently lists all input mappings of the game and the legacy input mappings of the RAGE engine. It contains these strings:

Code: [Select]

INPUT_MAP

INPUT_SELECT_WEAPON_UNARMED

INPUT_SELECT_WEAPON_MELEE

INPUT_SELECT_WEAPON_HANDGUN

INPUT_SELECT_WEAPON_SHOTGUN

INPUT_SELECT_WEAPON_SMG

INPUT_SELECT_WEAPON_AUTO_RIFLE

INPUT_SELECT_WEAPON_SNIPER

INPUT_SELECT_WEAPON_HEAVY

INPUT_SELECT_WEAPON_SPECIAL

INPUT_SELECT_CHARACTER_MICHAEL

INPUT_SELECT_CHARACTER_FRANKLIN

INPUT_SELECT_CHARACTER_TREVOR

INPUT_SELECT_CHARACTER_MULTIPLAYER

INPUT_SAVE_REPLAY_CLIP

INPUT_SPECIAL_ABILITY_PC

These command mappings are unique and not present in the list of command mappings used by XBOX 360 and the list of deprecated legacy command mappings.

Like others have said, the game will have been compiled on a PC originally and engine stuff like that normally gets left in. It's not proof that the game is feature-complete for release, or even able to run on PCs that aren't assembled specifically to have hardware similar to the 360. An actual release means they have to be confident it will run on a wide variety of computers without weird bugs, which is where the real work of a PC release comes in (well that an keyboard/mouse controls, but it's not like they put real work into those anyway :P).

Of course, better evidence that we can expect a PC release is that they usually release their games on PC.

GTA IV was pretty poor. I loved GTA:SA and I can't wait to get my hands on V.

Tbh though even if main storyline is only like 10 hours long (San Andreas speedrunners do it around 6 and that is with trying to skip cutscenes etc...) for the price it's valued it's much better then a movie. Some games I feel are better of being movies instead like Last of Us, gameplay is pretty bleugh but the story and acting was great. San Andreas was like a cheesy movie and a fun game so it was great, GTA IV was like a shitty movie, gameplay was so-so.

I don't really like New York, I also don't like GTA IV's Liberty City, perhaps there is coincidence. I like LA, San Fran and Las Vegas and I loved San Andreas, perhaps there is a coincidence. I also like Chicago so maybe they should go a GTA of that, or I might just get Watch Dogs instead.

It took me 43 hours to complete the main + side quests. I am only at 83% complete. So I would guess around 75+hrs without considering replay. I am trying to replay missions for top ratings too and then next week Multiplayer starts and I will probably get another 60+ hours for that at least.

V is definitely better than IV, in my opinion, but San Andreas still remains the best in the series. I think the fast forward feature new to this game, where time advances to when the mission you are trying to do is able to be performed, takes away from all the side things you have to do, which is what makes GTA such a gem. Now, you hardly have a reason to visit these side things because you can just do the main missions right away.

I'm happy this is GTA and not CoD or some other shitty FPS. :)

Can I ask gentlemen, if anyone who has this on the PS3, how exactly do I log into the social club?
