Lockets? As in the ones with family pictures in? Could make military dwarves less unhappy about being on duty for a long time, Content that they are protecting their family.

The military is all gathered in one huge mass on top of the ramp to the mountaintop, where the entrance is. Apparently they spend their time taking potshots at owls, pushing babies off the ledge, and giggling.

The hourglass could be very useful if it gave a super speed boost.  Manipulating time and all that.  But it should be hard to make, like specific materials, a 10% or 25% chance to make, and with reaction backfires.

Time Jumps sounds more like a magic field to me... the air mage has a short super-speed boost that looks almost like a teleport.

I was more thinking in the way of building mats and Phylacteries. Those are hourglasses as well, arent they?

handkerchiefs,                                           gives the dwarf a clean self interaction
bags/boxes of gravel.                                 gives throw rock interaction
wallets/purses.                                          No idea
personal smoke machines/pipes                     squid ink like hide reaction

disregarding reactions, how about using certain crafts as building materials?

like
hammers for masons workshops
saws for carpenters
knifes for butcher and kitchen
etc.

Meph said all vanilla workshops are hardcoded.:( That's why he made a lot of new workshops instead of just adding new reactions to vanilla ones.

Yeah, its quite difficult. I can can only add/remove jobs from 7 vanilla buildings, and can only change name and design of 2. (screwpress and soapmaker)

Anyway, would it be possible to make the boneyard and other buildings use Bone crafts (which are always single) to override the use-the-whole-freaking-cow-to-make-a-bone-chair glitch? Because if so, I'm sure it would be a very well accepted trade-off.

You mean instead of:

Bone Stack (X) => Bone Item (1)

that I should do:

Bone Stack (X) => Bone Crafts (X) => Bone Items (X) ?

An intermediate step to actually use up all the bones one by one?

Are you sure about this? The individual items are listed in the stockpiles, thus I think you should be able to target them. Having ANY_CRAFT does not necessarily mean you cannot target the individual items, just that you can also target all crafts.

What are you getting at? ANY_CRAFT and CRAFTS are just a special pointers that let a reaction either take just some random craft good as a reagent ("decorate item with xyz") or produce a randomly rolled stack of them as a product ("make xyz crafts").

Yeah, I had a brainfart, because I was reading up on the wiki, and the wiki is wrong. ^^

I actually use specific crafts already in the craftsman, to make specific crafts one by one. I tested this for reagents, I can make a craft be a scabbard and use it in reagents.
