I could easily run an all battleship fleet by now, but that means ignoring most of the ships in the game. I'm hoping to show off some of the ship designs I completely ignored in my first run because it was possible to go all battleships and carriers by the second half of the game, when the selection opens up.

Point taken. Makes sense.
So how is the little Destroyer faring against the endless wave of pirate ships? Does it blow up often?

I admit in my first playthrough, I got my ass handed over in a lot of battles until I figured out that Fleet formation conferred those evade and defense bonuses. LOL

Oddly, it's doing just fine. Most battles end before the enemy can fire with more then a ship or two, as my fleet has enough overwhelming firepower to destroy a ship per volley. The Skoryy-class is also surprisingly durable for a destroyer, and can take a pretty good beating. I think it's been blown up two or three times at this point, mostly because it's the frontline ship.

What, flux sector wasn't nuts enough? :P

True, there weren't any battles there or anything...but it was just plain creepy!

My only disappointment of this chapter is that Ian and Yuri didn't wear dresses to this celebration.

They learned not to make bets with Nia after the last time. ;)

Yeah.... Nia needs... better taste in dresses...

I actually cannot tell if there is something on her dress or if it is meant to look that way.

I admit I kind of like Nia the most. Unlike our two brain trust protagonists she at least seems to know what is going on most of the time. She comes off as the "I know better then you, but I'll let you do what you want because I am teaching you something" character.

I almost wonder how this game would play out if Nia was our protagonist... Then again it isn't like Nia has been making all the best moves either.

A Broken Friendship
New Characters:
New Ships:  Fionn (M)
New Equipment:
New Fighters:

Spoiler: Bitter Words (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Going it Alone (click to show/hide)

And that wraps up this chapter. After the excitement of the last chapter with the war against Spetses and the revelation of what the Epitaphs do, along with the insanity of the Flux Sectors, this chapter is very much a breather. The characters get to relax, do some shopping, and while what they accomplish is important - finally, someone in the more advanced LMC is aware of the coming threat, it's a lot more talking and a lot less action.

Don't worry, the break is over now, and we're getting back into the action - very quickly.

Thanks to those who voted in the poll. Nova Nacio won by a landslide, but for those who voted for Kalymnos, we'll get to see that route, though it'll be part of the New Game+ content. Very shortly, for those who haven't played the game before, you'll see why we needed to decide who our friends were.

Yuri gets in an unfathomably large amount of swordfights.

I honestly thought his first one was just for dramatic purposes and otherwise they were going to use guns... but apparently not.

Can I ask someone to recall if these are normal swords or vibroswords or laser swords?

They're 'plasmic blades', which I think is a regular sword with an energy field around it. Mostly to avoid a lawsuit from Lucas Arts for using a direct lightsaber clone.

And the Princess Bride reference practically wrote itself. :)
