And then we're back with Yuri and company. Who don't know exactly how bad things have just gotten, and still need to go and wipe out some Kalymnos ships.
We head to Universala and stop by the tavern there, defeating one fleet along the way.

Conversation #1Beleko: Both the Stelalumo laser and the
Thalia deflectors are amazing technological feats. It's true what they say about war really advancing technology.
Tatiana: So you don't think that technology would ever develop if there weren't any wars?
Beleko: Well, it's never happened in mankind's history that technology has advanced more in peacetime than in wartime.
Tatiana: ...
Beleko: I guess man is just a naturally lazy but competitive creature. He only moves forward when he's up against somebody else. Ha ha ha!
Conversation #2Yuri: Kira, have you heard anything from Mr. Lanco?
Tatiana: Not yet. I tried contacting him, but Mr. Garni answered. He said that Mr. Lanco was still in the middle of negotiations.
Torlo: Both sides oughta be pretty worn down by now. They've gotta realize they can't keep fightin' forever, ya know?
Nia: Well, I guess all we can do is take care of any leftover stragglers as fast as we can, and leave the peace talks to Mr. Lanco.
Yuri: Right. Let's just keep going with our patrol.
Conversation #3At the bar, Nia Lochlain is talking to somebody via a mobile terminal.
Nia: So you're sayin' Elgava has no intention of intervening in the Irvest Sector, huh?
Nia: Yeah, okay. It's a mess here. We can't get away, so thanks for doing this for us. Keep up the great work.
She hangs up.
Yuri: Nia, who were you talking to?
Nia: Oh, that was Semias. He was checkin' out the situation in Elgava for us. It looks like they've sent armed forces to some other region.
Torlo: Armed forces? Who are they gonna fight?
Nia: I dunno. But I got a bad feeling about this. I hope we get peace in this area soon.
>>Talk to the bartender.
Bartender: To tell the truth, I feel like I've been betrayed by the Nova Nacion Space Force. My friend was on Najbaro when it happened. He was only there to try and earn a little money... If those guys hadn't been building a weapon like that over there, that planet never would've been targeted.
We leave and keep hunting. After the third fleet falls to us...
Torlo: There. That oughta take care of most of the Kalymnian stragglers, don't you think?
Yuri: Yeah, I think you're right. Could you go see if you can retrieve any of the enemy crew?
Torlo: Sure thing.
Yuri: Kira, get a pod ready for Torlo would you?
Kira: ...
Yuri: Kira?
Kira: Oh. Okay...
She collapses gracefully.
Yuri: Kira?!
Ian: Hang in there, Kira!
The screen fades out and in while we tend to her.
Tatiana: Phew. We've got her lying down in her room for now.
Yuri: What did the doctors say?
Tatiana: A few of her ribs are cracked. Apparently, it happened when Stelalumo was launched on Monarho. The poor thing! She's been quietly suffering with her pain this whole time.
Like an idiot. Say something about your ribs!Yuri: Damn it. I should've noticed something was wrong with her. I guess I've been too wrapped up in battles lately. Poor Kira.
Tatiana: And they said she's suffering from exhaustion from all this travel, too. I think we'd better land somewhere and give her a chance to rest.
Yuri: I guess you're right.
Ian:
There ought to be a military hospital on Ermeno. Let's take her there.Yuri: Good idea, Ian.
>>Ermeno
Yuri: Kira, how are you feeling?
It's been a while since we've seen Kira in her civilian clothes.Kira: I'm doing a lot better now.
Yuri: I'm glad. I'm really sorry you were in pain all that time...
Kira: No, it's not your fault, Yuri. I just didn't want to have to be separated from you.
Yuri: Well, they said you'll be as good as new if you stay in the hospital for about a month. You can come back on board then, as soon as you're better.
Kira: ... Okay. I'll miss you, Yuri.
Kira left your crew!Yuri: Oh, yeah. I brought you some fruit. Here, let me peel it for you.
Kira: Thanks, Yuri.
Valso suddenly barges in.
Valso: Terrible news, Yuri!
Ian: Captain Valso!
Nia: We got an injured lady here. Would you guys keep it down?
Valso: Oh, my apologies. But you won't believe what happened! I can't believe it myself!
Torlo: All right, then spill it already!
Valso: The Central Forces of the Interplanetary Union of Elgava have been wiped out!
Yuri: What?!
Tatiana: What do you mean, "wiped out"?
Nia: But the Lugovalian Empire?
Valso: Oh, you've heard of the Lugovalian Empire? I won't mince words, then. Three days ago, the Central Elgavan Forces fleet of 5,000 came into contact with this Lugovalian Empire, the invading army. And in just one engagement, they were completely annihilated!
Ian: Just one...?
Valso: The battle took place in a sector about 2,000 light years away from Central Elgava. Even traveling just at cruising speed, they should arrive in the Small Magellanic Cloud within a month!
Yuri: ...
I told you all about this. And now you believe us. A little late, though.Torlo: ...
Nia: And what are all the countries' responses?
Valso: Elgava has lost its core fleet. They're apparently gathering their regional forces together, but it's unclear what their strength will be. We'll conclude a cease-fire agreement with Kalymnos within the day and regroup our fleets. Then we wait for a government decision.
With this news delivered, Vilchjo Valso rushes off. Left behind in the hospital, Yuri and company look at each other with grim expressions on their faces.
Yuri: Damn it. This is exactly what Nia was trying to warm them about! All those soldiers... if only Elgava had listened!
Nia: People like that never listen or learn. There's nothing we can do to change anything now, Yuri. They weren't gonna listen to a bunch of dumb zero-G dogs, right?
Yuri: Grus.
Tatiana: But what can we do now? Elgava was the greatest power in the Small Magellanic Cloud. If even they were wiped out in the blink of an eye--
Torlo: Hey, c'mon. We can't give up now ! We haven't even gotten started yet!
Ian: I don't know about that. Even if they gather up all the regional forces, it's going to be a pretty motley crew. If the Central Forces were no match for them, I doubt the regional forces would be any sort of contender against this enemy.
Torlo: Damn it, Ian! So whaddya want us to do, just roll over and give up before we even give it a shot?!
Ian: I'm just trying to be realistic. You can't change facts by blustering.
Torlo: Blusterin'?! Why, you son of a --!
Tatiana: Knock it off, Torlo! We don't have time for this nonsense!
Torlo: Right... Sorry, Tats.
Yuri: Nia, is there anything we can do? Just sitting back and watching a foreign aggressor take over the Small Magellanic Cloud... That can't be our only option, can it?
Nia: ... There just might be one thing we could do.
Kira: What?
Tatiana: Really?!
Nia: Yeah, maybe...
Torlo: Well, what is it?!
Nia: We get the Large Magellanic Cloud to help. With the military might of the LMC, we just might stand a fighting chance. And now, luckily, we know somebody personally in one of the LMC nations. Regeinland.
Yuri: Oh, right! The guy we met on Zefiro!
Nia: Exactly. We can get in touch with Captain Schneizer and ask him to send reinforcements.
Torlo: Then let's do it right away! We don't got much time.
Nia: We can't do it from here. There aren't any IP communication systems between the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds.
Pipra on Kashtano is the only one that has a communication device that can reach the LMC.Ian: A-ha! So that's one of the reasons she has so much power, is it?
Nia: Bingo.
Yuri: But how are we going to get through the Magellanic Stream without Cico?
Nia: Don't worry about that. I'm gonna call in some backup.
Yuri: Backup?
Nia: Yup. I got somebody pretty good, too. You just wait and see.
Yuri: All right, then. Let's get to Kashtano.
Tatiana: Hey, wait a minute. What about Kira?
Kira: I... I'm fine. I can go with you.
Yuri: No way. I'm not taking you into the Magellanic Stream like this! We'll be back before you know it. You just stay here and rest, okay?
Kira: Okay...
Torlo: Um, Yuri, do ya mind if I stay behind, too?
Yuri: You too, Torlo?
Torlo: Yeah. I got lots of friends in Elgava. If things get bad, I wanna be able to help make sure they get away safe.
Radimir: And I have to make sure my wife will be all right!
Where'd you come from? We haven't heard from you in ages.Tatiana: In that case, I'll come with you. I'm worried about Rufina, too.
Minas: And I'd like to jump ship here too, if I may.
Nia: Not you too, Professor Minas?
Minas: yes, I'm worried about Aminda's safety, actually. I'd like to get her to come here at least, while there's still time.
Yuri: All right. Try to help as many other people evacuate as you can, too.
Torlo: Sorry about this, Yuri. I'll get it done and get back as fast as I can.
<Yuri>> Thanks, Torlo. Oh, and Ian...
Ian: Yes?
Yuri: Could you please stay here and look after Kira for me?
Ian: Me?
Yuri: Yeah, I know I can depend on you.
Ian: ... All right. I won't let anything happen to her, don't worry.
Yuri: thanks, Ian.
Ian Fenevich and Yuri shake hands firmly. The rest of the party members add their hands to the top in a show of solidarity.
Torlo Adkin left your crew!
Tatiana Agarkov left your crew!
Ian Fenevich left your crew!
Gavriil Minas left your crew!
Radimir left your crew!Well, that was a solid chunk of people lost.We visit Valso at the headquarters before we go.
Valso: The level of care and facilities at our medical hospital are top notch. You need not worry about Kira. But you must forgive me. It seems I had forgotten that you are still very youthful.
Yuri: Don't worry about us.
Valso: At any rate, all we can do is wait for the government to make a decision.
Yuri: ... (But there's no time to lose! While we sit around here doing nothing, Lugovalos will keep pressing on!)
We visit the tavern one more time before getting ready to ship out.

Conversation #1Poplo: Ah, the Lugovalian Empire.. What imposing majesty!
Yuri: Uh, Poplo?
Don't make me hurt you.Poplo: Captain, wouldn't you just love to have a ship like one of theirs? With a fleet like that, you could take on even Valantin's
Corsair!Nia: Hey, you sound pretty taken with them, Poplo. Whose side are you on, anyway?
Poplo: I'm a member of Yuri's crew, of course. No more, no less. But for any traveler of the cosmos, it is perfectly natural to be drawn to the might of Lugovalian ships. I don't have any personal grudge to hold against the Lugovalian Empire.
Nia: Oh, really?! Whatever you say, Poplo.
Yuri: ...
We'll be keeping an eye on you, Poplo.
At the top of the elevator, I reorganize the crew to make up for all of our missing comrades. Beleko gets promoted from Fire Control Handler to 1st Officer, and the rest of the positions can remain unfilled at the moment.
We depart Ermero, while down below, Kira and Ian enjoy the countryside.
Ian: Shall I give you a hand, Kira?
Kira: No, I'm all right. Thanks, Ian.
Ian: I guess Yuri will be shipping out pretty soon. There aren't any clouds in the sky today. You might be able to see his lights.
Kira: Yeah.
Onboard the
Nikusui...
Yuri: ...
Nia: Are you worried?
Yuri: Huh?
Nia: About Kira?
Yuri: Well, of course I am. She's the only family I've got.
Nia: Yeah, I understand. Well, let's get this done fast and hurry back, then.
Yuri: Right! Engines, full power! We're heading to Kashtano. Ship out!
Kira: Oh Yuri...
