Dwarf not healing
« on: July 30, 2013, 01:23:48 pm »

So I had a necro siege, and one vampire survived. He is all alone, surrounded by hordes of the undead. I was having him systematically destroy them, but then a partial skeleton broke one of his right floating ribs, and he freaked out and ran to a bed, where he is now "resting". Without proper medical care, will his ribs ever heal? Or do I just have a useless fort, with an immortal vampire and no migrants due to a siege?

Or, can their be goblin sieges while the undead siege is still active? All the necromancers are dead, so if I just AFKed for a really long time, would the goblins eventually wear away the undead numbers until there were none left, allowing migrants to come and repopulate once the goblins left?
EDIT: just got ambushed. Yay!

broken ribs do heal, just in case you ever encounter it again. Pretty much anything will heal without medical care, but with medical care it may heal faster and the dwarf in question will often continue to work instead of staying in bed

Jam a door with its corpse and let all the goblins in. Hey, nobody said it had to be a weapon against your enemies.

And then everyone melted.

Not having hospital zone can force dwarves to work even with serious injuries, as long as it's not the kind that cripples or makes them pass out from pain. If it's pretty serious, they'll rest regardless. At least that's what happens whenever I accidentally hurt a dwarf or two, or they runs into angry critters too early.

With vampire, you at least won't have to worry about others forgetting or stalling on feeding and drinking them :D
