(5) The three of you examine the damage. As the drill was made for rock and not metal, the damage is not severe. There is no structural damage, though the drill is dulled and the plating on the bulkhead is twisted and broken. This was an interior wall, so no environmental problems are evident either.

(6-1) The creature listens to the translation from your communicator ,and looks as though it is enlightened.
(6+1) Your attempts at courtesy appear to have made you a friend, at least for the moment. The creature grabs you by the arms gently, and explains slowly and clearly, looking you in the eyes as it does so.

(3-1) meanwhile, one of the furry creatures has latched onto your leg with its teeth! Your pants are torn, and you are bleeding! (Oods bleed? seep/ ooze? crystallize?)

(1 + 1 - 1) In your disoriented state, you mistake one order for another, approve two ships for the same berth, send a shipment of laboratory specimens to food processing, and order the Harbor to be evacuated of air! fortunately, that last one requires confirmation, so no air is evacuated, except by the bowels of some creatures as they digest their latest meals.

Ghaer garbs his cooking stuff and waits for a customer.
