Efficiency was up to the expected levels, Keffit-Fum found. The Others worked like Others do, and that was all that needed to be said on the matter.

See if there is some sort of cooling chamber where we design all the ship-dwelling organisms. What's the current system in place for that sort of thing?

Activate lights, begin clearing away obstruction.

Well, let's say you're going away from Earth on huge spaceship and suddenly shit goes wrong and you have Super Mutants. Social Experiments prepared them for this.

There must be some way that you design species for other races. Lower temperatures, high and low gravity, liquid environments, high radiation, and low lighting are just a few of the many environmental challenges to consider when designing alien organisms. Describe for me a couple of options on that front. I'll let you know if anything falls outside of setting.

A set of testing chambers, naturally - the spores of the new creatures, bred to be extremely resilient in their immature state, can survive in Former-inhabited areas, while the mature versions cannot. So the Formers, after spawning or obtaining them, let them into special containers that are then delivered to particular testing chambers that simulate the appropriate environment they might be expected to live in. Or they utilize insulated containers to bring said things over to the testing chambers.

At least, that's what would make the most sense to me. And if an autopsy is needed, the bodies are brought over to a slightly cooler chamber than the normal Former zone, where the Formers can perform strands-on examinations of the things.

Have the small FBs return to their workstations and continue whatever it was they were doing, directing customers to FB 1 if questioned, and returning to the pods if they run into any problems and when they're done their assigned tasks.
Continue doing customer service with FB 1.

you could also have isolation chambers, remote operated drones, heat suits, etc, etc. Actually, I am slightly unclear on the nature of your breeding programs. You breed a variety of bacterial, fungal and other life forms? In your alien description, I got the impression that all of these things were to be bred from Former stock, but I have been acting as though you are receiving batches of alien organisms as well. Where lies my confusion?

Yes, they are bred from Former stock, and when I say I want a particular set of organisms, I mean a set of Former organisms approximating these parameters. When I ask if such "bases" are available, I mean to search the locally-available varieties for a match, not any external source - Formers can't actually modify things that aren't related to them, as it is a part of their biology that allows them to do this. In essence, Formers only breed other Formers, and utilize them for a variety of purposes.

Noted. All organisms you have received are from Former stock. If it comes from another pat of the ship, it comes from an organism the Formers sent there.

Waiting on flameboy99. I'll post tis evening either way, I think.

See if there is some sort of cooling chamber where we design all the ship-dwelling organisms. What's the current system in place for that sort of thing?
(1+1) The cooling systems are malfunctioning in the main Former-to-Other acclimatization unit. This is a problem, but not an emergency, as the workers have already transferred the active crops to other units. Those units are now crowded to capacity though. Other crops have been moved on to other stages of development, albeit a tad prematurely, and some have been held back in the Former-comfortable zones, to await space for their maturation.

Activate lights, begin clearing away obstruction.
(5+1) You activate your suit lights, and get a better look at the obstruction. It is organic, and plant-like. One of the other techs grumbles a bit about the Hydroponics Department, and the three of you begin clearing the mass of plants. The other tech calls supply to bring a set of organics containment bags, so that you can take the plant life to be examined for possible trouble. The work goes smoothly, and you are done in time to take another, lesser job before shift end.

Hm. Take my furry friends to a Park.
(this could not possibly go wrong)
(6) you find a park. It is a nice, brightly lit, open place with grasses, a lake and river, and deep shady places for species which prefer the dark. You see several exotic aliens, and many non-sapient life forms from a variety of worlds. Your furry friends stay close, generally getting underfoot, and getting into a fight with another group of furry things. These new furry things are larger by about half, but there are only five of them, and the one's you brought seem to be winning. This battle has drawn the attention of several onlookers, and a creature that looks composed of rocks is shuffling your way quickly!

Have the small FBs return to their workstations and continue whatever it was they were doing, directing customers to FB 1 if questioned, and returning to the pods if they run into any problems and when they're done their assigned tasks.
Continue doing customer service with FB 1.

(2) FB 2 still has not returned to its pod, even though the other Bound have done so. Perhaps it has not yet seen them return.
(3 ) The Smaller FB are reluctant to get back to their stations. They are still stressed from the earlier commotion. hey make their way to their terminals, but they are unresponsive to customers.
(1) FB 1has gone dormant.
Sorry Xantalos, you have had a bit of bad luck this round.

Compensate. Approve everyone for leaving/docking. At the same time.
(3+1) You make all the requisite approvals, and the ships begin their docking dance.
(3+1) It appears somewhat chaotic, with everything moving at the same time, but no collisions occur, at least.
(I am surprised you didn't pick up on the fact that you ate a lunch, and then had your lunch handed to you.)

Disperse into a small cloud and begin switching off robots.
(2) you disperse into a cloud of about five feet in diameter, and begin chasing one of the droids down. It proves elusive.
(5) The sauroid and the beaked fellow (seriously, remind me to give these guys/girls/things names and attributes), while amused at your trouble, are aware of the risks to the ship, and begin to help.
(3+1) they manage to corner and shut down one of the droids, The Sauroid clenching the robot around the torso with it's long arms, and the other darting it's beak quickly in and out in a series of expert moves, setting the droid back to standby mode. One down, two to go!
(1) you are all three caught by surprise when the ship lurches into motion, The other two tumble into one another and collapse in a heap with the droid, and you slam into an obstacle bruising the skull and tearing the brain, stunning you!  (-1 to actions next turn)

Reactivate FB 1 and have it retrieve FB 2 to go back into the pod, then go back into its pod and continue customer service.
