On the matter of vehicles and air support: our drop troop regiment is very likely to have a handful of Valkyries for dropping troops into the thick of it and even a few configured for air-to-ground fire support. Since we have no Basilisks or similar vehicles to speak of, we have no way of calling artillery strikes. We could theoretically call air strikes, but that would most likely be reserved for medium to large-scale battles and unlikely to happen in our case. I also expect our regiment's resources to be stretched thin by now. In case we had Valkyries available to call air strikes from (and we were given the actual power to call upon them, such as by a decision from the regiment commander for a certain scenario), yes, the Commissar or the Sergeant could call on air support.
It is relevant to point out we could be one of the few IG regiments with actual IG pilots and IG Valkyries (depending on lore and the GM's call). The Harakoni Warhawks were able to do that, much to the anger of the Imperial Navy. Displeasing the Imperial Navy is not a good thing.
On the matter of a vox-caster: micro-beads work pretty well, especially since we are a bit on the "quiet" side as far as most regiments go.
On the matter of saluting: your assigned Commissar is considered an officer for the purposes of saluting and the Sergeant is also amidst the people who must salute him. Since I don't want people to keep having to write they are saluting my character, I'll understand it is implied you did so, though you can always write it down if you feel like doing it. If you don't want to have your character salute, then do write your character hasn't saluted. It's easier to write down the exception than the rule.
Priests and Tech-Priests don't need to salute the Commissar or any officer, for that matter.
