I just assumed you'd want to keep the Carapace armor, because armor weight doesn't factor into any major besides the maximum amount you can carry, and I can assure you I'm not going to be super strict about item weight. It's not going to make you slower, and you'd basically have a little bit more protection than everyone else which can make the difference between taking damage, or not taking damage at all.

I do want it, it just irks me a bit that 1/3 of our regiment points help everybody but me because I lost my flak armor.

If I still had it then I could trade it off if I come across a guardsmen with a weapon attachment that I want, or 2. So it'd still have served some purpose for me as well since 3 of the 4 I want are pretty rare so straight requisition is going to be extremely difficult.

Yes, those points help 5/6ths of the squad, which seems to be a clear majority and a large benefit to the entire squad as a whole. Also, trading your armor may or may not get you into trouble, as different regiments have different rules regarding uniforms and equipment and the Department of Munitorium probably wouldn't appreciate the armor you were specifically given to be traded through illegal means.

I should tell you now: you can't trade equipment you receive from the regiment unless you are planning on getting executed. Remember you are expected to always have the contents of the Kit at hand and failure to do so may result in summary execution. That said, I'm not going to play my Commissar that way, but it's worth noting the higher-ups would still want a soldier's blood if he's reported to have traded off his issued gear.

Alex, you have better armor than us. You earlier said, that if we change something someone isnt going to like it. Right now, just cause it doesnt affect you, doesnt mean its a bad thing. It is more beneficial to the squad, as a whole. Which means we are there to cover your ass in a pinch. Meaning honestly, you may survive longer.

Meh I figured as much on that as well, but it did make me wonder if I could have returned it and received a requisition bonus for it to get something else .Otherwise It's still useful to have incase my armor becomes damaged. It has all the pieces for the set so if say my gauntlet is damaged enough to be ineffective I'd have a spare to replace it until I could get a new one.

It might be able to be fixed on the field. We arent helpless. and getting it repaired is fine, you dont need a brand spanking new one.

I was under the impression that the Imperial Flak Armor was a full body-type suit, considering that individual pieces of armor aren't listed in the equipment section like normal flak armor is.

The point was it would mean I have spare kit, it's not always possible to repair damaged kit at all and sometimes you don't have time.

If for nothing else it provides me with a back up set of armor, I think it's the same as my carapace armor since that isn't listed as parts either. I mean a helmet is hardly going to be part of the suit but it doesn't list a helmet even though it protects all including the head.

My armor is armored gauntlets, braces for arms and legs, chest, back, helmet and so on but it's not listed as parts and it's stronger then the listed parts. I figured that kind of armor just only comes in a full set.

Besides how would you climb into a set of armor if it's full body lol? It doesn't exactly stretch.

But then you would be even MORE weighed down, wasn't that the point of this to begin with?

1 of them but mostly because I thought it'd hurt my speed, 5.5kg is not going to push me into over burdened so it's fine.

If it's a full body suit, perhaps it may have other inventive uses. With some work, someone might be able to disguise it as a fake personnel unit, for baiting purposes.

I don't see how it could be, I mean my armor is a full set listed like the imperial flak as just all. But mine is solid metal. No possible way I could get into it unless it's like a normal suit of armor and comes in pieces.
I think it just means unlike normal carapace or flak it's only given out in complete sets.

Unlike say normal carapace chest plates which are given to bodyguard, cavalry, commanders and so on without the rest.

If it was separate pieces then the full armor wouldn't just have a flat AP rating, and would have varying AP depending on what place it was protecting.

True thats the problem, imperial flak and storm trooper carapace are listed the same way but a full body suit of carapace armor is literally impossible, it's solid material so it's impossible to get into it unless it comes in pieces.

But answer me this, flak armor covers front and back, up to your neck and down your arms. How do you get into it if it's a full body suit? Teleport?

You can put carapace plates into a suit but they aren't as strong as carapace armor.
