I did read it and it doesn't mention reinforcements rates being effected, but he has a point. Drop trooper with low reinforcements will make a horrible game so we need to replace The Few with something.
Er, sorry, the mechanical penalty to reinforcement rates The Condemned gives only applies when you're taking logistics tests (ie, if you have the few). Still given the fluff for the feat is basically "you are under a death sentence and the only reason we haven't shot you ourselves is you haven't given us
quite enough reason to execute you. We'll still send you off on pointless suicide missions though." I rather doubt you'd be getting any reinforcements. Especially given you have a penalty to interact with the Departmento Munitorum (ie the guys that actually own and distribute all your stuff and assign reinforcements).
Unless we did what I was talking about, and were the stealthy harassing troopers. Those missions are going to have us with the advantage, and allow us to escape, but may leave us caught behind enemy lines. (which imo will be fun from a game play standpoint)
Why would we be Drop Troops for that? There are two other Regiment Types in the Core Rulebook and
three in Only War that are far more suited to that role.
I would like to survive this game you know .
We're playing Only War, not D&D. I don't expect any one character of mine to survive to the end, I would suggest you don't either.
The first rule of 40K RPGS: don't get attached.
