Okay Kaferian, DigitalHellhound and Adwarf are in. I just ant to see how horribly wrong it goes with the Vatican City in play.

The Vatican City means you get vastly increased funding and access to one of the Biggest Libraries on Earth. However Military Support will be miniscule from the Vatican itself and the Italian Military is not exactly known for being particularly Modern or Skilled. On top some kinds of Scientific Studies will be restriced and you will have to deal with constant meddling from the Church.

Do you want to keep this starting site or do you want another?

They won't have the knowledge of the Vatican, but will still be tiny and poor. I kinda like the Vatican, if it's one of those.

Elysium.

Officially a Special Detachment of the Papal Guard you have been granted the Catacombs below the Inquisitorial Offices. After some Major Renovations, Site-0 is ready to be used.

As you can see we have Excavated several hundred meters deep. Level Gamma has even been reinforced with Ferro Concrete to allow an On-Site Nuclear Explosion without collateral Damages of the Vatican City.

Each Level is deeper below the ground and will cost more to excavate (you can go down 10 Levels)
Each Level is made up of 10 Sections which go horizontally and contain 10 Spaces. Since going in to the breadth would require you to build into the Roman Catacombs and Sewers it will be expensive as well.

You recieved an Initial Funding of 1 Billion € by the Vatican and the Member States as well as quarterly funding from the following countries:
Vatican City - 1 Million €
Brazil - 500.000€
Belgium - 250.000€
Italy - 100.000€

Currently no Research is going on and no Security Measures have been taken. No Personnel has been hired.

Open Missions

The State of Norway has shown interest in the Elysium Project and claims to be willing to be funding you- for a help in a matter which cannot reach the public.
An Archeologist has found an ancient cup in a Grave of a European Knight on a till date undiscovered island west of england.
What appears to be a tribe of primitively living people has been discovered near Novia Scotia, more worringly Scientists trying to discover what is going on have vanished completely.

Aquire cup, talk to the archeologist. Ask for more information from Norway (nature of that matter, and amount of funds), but show interest. Talk to the institutions the vanished scientists were working for.

I'm going to do the smart thing here and disengage. This isn't a hill I paticularly care to die on.

Commission the Vatican for support in obtaining the cup discovered on the uncharted island near England.
Look for any scientists who might be willing to take a job here that are either skilled or have an excellent record regarding the projects they've helped bring to a completion.
Set up a lab in each level of Site-0 to be used later.

Director, with your permission I will begin security preparations for this facility. I would request military-grade security equipment to be installed throughout this facility, as well as any defenses of the occult I can acquire.

I would also request a contignent of Swiss Guards to be posted here, if the people upstairs can allow that, in addition to the hiring of normal security personnel, preferably men with military backgrounds. A barracks and armoury should be constructed on the first floor.

Begin cost/feasibility appraisal for these and related expenses.

Feel free to do whatever you need to do to improve security, Zachariah, after all that is your job.

I'll see if I can get some Swiss Guard stationed down here before I go off to see King Harald to see what their government needs of us.

Attempt to persuade the Pope to station some of the Swiss Guard down here.
Arrange a meeting with Norway's government to see what exactly they require of our services.
Authorize any projects the Heads wish to do.
Search for potential agents that Elysium can hire.
