ETA on next version coming out?

Rah rah rah... let's start it early. Give me v0.27.169.32b or give me death. I don't really have anything specific to fix, but I know that I want the next version, and I want it NOW!  :)

New versions will probably come out fairly rapidly, but they'll be bug fixes and so forth- not massive game-changing updates like this one.

Yeah, it's gonna be bugfixes only for a good while. As far as I'm concerned, until these new features are cleaned up massively, DF is all but unplayable.

At least Toady gets something done every day, so it shouldn't take any longer than a couple more weeks to stabilize things a little bit. Dontcha just love new releases?

Gotta disagree with you Skee, it was very playable for me last night.  Restrict your map to 3x3 or smaller, try to play on the main Z-level.  If your site is laggy, try a different one.  My first 10x10 site was too slow to be fun, 3x3 was very fun.

And if you think 3x3 is too small, do 4x4 or 5x5. They should still be fast enough to get the job done. With the z levels, even 3x3 provides much more space than the old DF could ever hope to achieve.

Yeah, it's plenty playable for me. My first map was extremely laggy and I had to abandon it, but it was a max size map. My second map is 5x5, I'm currently using parts of 6 Z-levels, and I'm getting 30-60 FPS (depending on camera location). I'm only running on a 1.86 GHz laptop, too.
