I guess that's true. The biggest thing I want to learn is how to powerfully articulate with proper enunciation, a powerful voice that doesn't fall over itself and no slurs in general. But that's good advice - I should break it down. Maybe I should start with enunciation.

The trick is that when you narrate you are trying to speak in a way that even people in the back can hear you.

You are not speaking to the people in front of you, you are speaking to the people way in the back in a clear voice.

This, 100% this. The most important lesson you can learn for any kind of vocal performing art, or anything where you're trying to broadcast your voice to a group of people, you ALWAYS have to be talking like that. But there's a thin line between talking loud enough so people in the back can hear you and shouting, and it's often a mistake plenty of beginners make. Now, you may think this doesn't apply since you're not talking to a group of people in a traditional way, but more often than not if you're trying to broadcast your voice that way regardless it'll be easier to fit into a more narrative voice.

How's your vocal abilitiy comin'? Thought I'd just check in. By now you're either a god among men or you've irrevocably damaged your voice!

Haven't been practicing enough. It may be months before I'm actually good at this. I tried to use only my Diaphram Voice during class yesterday and wore myself out again. Found a good page of tongue twisters and ran through most of them.

But I did work on enunciation like I said I would, so I recorded my best recent attempts at the Saga of Sheila's Seashore Seashell Shop. Laugh at me flailing around in them and tell me how you think I could have done better, please.

Practice (first part, not enough diaphragm)
Practice (first part, did it too fast)
Practice (second part)
Practice (second part, I got the emotion in there at the start but it's not consistent! grr)

This has been giving me more confidence in my voice, though. I now know I can at least make it sound like what it sounds like in my brain (used to, after recording, it would sound more like the first couple words of the first .wav up there).

You shouldn't be straining your voice that much while speaking from diaphragm. Practice with humming first, to get a feel for it so you can do it without exhausting your voice so quickly.

I answered that question already.

I think it's the volume. Still slightly too loud. I'll try humming more often.
