Look at the spike chain in the PHB, the only place you can safely hold it is also the center handle. And also the thing'd be basically impossible to use in real life without hurting yourself. A lot. As in, whips are dangerous to use in real life without hurting yourself, and this thing is a metal whip with spikes.

Edit: Also, I think we could at least start, once I finish the history, and just pause it whilst I'm away, if necessary.

Well, there are reasons why as far as I know, it's only a D&D weapon. Though you could probably use one end like a whip on it's own.

And yeah, I wouldn't mind starting for real.

Lol, kidding, but hey since we're basically just playing the waiting game, would you guys like to hear the history and stuff I thought up for the game I was planning on GMing? (I'm putting it on hold until this starts and I get some real experience, but the lore is all there and if you're interested I'll share.)

Yeah, I'm getting tired of reading the Monster Manuals searching for suitable things to crush all your hopes and dreams with even, now.

My sheet has been ready to go for about 22 hours now, I don't know what you folks are waiting on.

Would you mind telling me what's wrong with it, then? It's level 3, it has spent all 2700gp, and it has allocated every skill point and feat. I have no idea what else you want from it.

EDIT: If you're wanting flavor text, it is more my style to introduce my character to other players and the GM as we play. After all, he is a mysterious pirate that has presumably never met any of you.

You don't have flavoring yet.

EDIT: Above all, I could use some preferred descriptions of yourself, so I can properly describe your actions. The history allows me to tie you into the story.

If I don't have a description of how you want your character to look, when I describe your actions to the other players I will have to make decisions for you about how your character looks. I don't like inhibiting roleplaying freedom like that.

Get it done. I intend to start ASAP, before the untapped potential overwhelms me.

So many encounter ideas, and no idea quite which one I want to use first.

I added that my guy wears a cloak. That's about all- any personality traits that I think of will be revealed in time.
