Unfortunately, Final Fantasy Tactics-esqe games are rare on the PC.

War of the Human Tanks? Reviews for it are mostly mixed, but I found it entertaining. It's definitely not to everybody's taste though.

There is Telepath Tactics, but I think its still in alpha...  I also haven't tried it, so no idea if its any good.  Its got a demo though.

Oh wait, I remember one.

This is pretty close to Final Fantasy Tactics. I didn't do more than play the demo because I found the humor atrocious, at best. But mechanically it seems to be what you want for the PC.

From what I've seen of my buddy playing it, the full version's gameplay is mediocre at best... I got a real "this is a genre parody, so it doesn't need top-notch genre gameplay" vibe.

Agreed about the terrible humor. It is so bad that it makes Disgaea look like comedy gold.

I liked Disgaea, in a kind of awful way with flair. The Prinny Commentary on the DS version probably helped a lot with that though.

I really hope that they manage to get a DS emulator working properly on Android devices soon, because my DS bit the dust a while back and I really want to play Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2 again on a mobile device....
