Mitigating Factors: He was bullied by the victims. The situation was the result of the actions of the victims, though they didn't know that it would happen.

((In addition, he was forced to kill them if he wanted to escape the enchantment thingy in the room. There's gotta be a "escape a binding" mitigation clause in this universe, given how magic is everywhere.

Meanwhile, Catherine is still messing around with Illusions.

She ends up making a illusory image of someone's face, on a small bit of ice. It might be of someone she knows. Or it might just be of some random person she made up.

... I guess maybe that's because... if it's a real person, you could have to deal with someone who knows that person noticing something wrong with the illusion? Makes some sense, I guess."

((Magic didn't work. Enchantments are magic. Hence, it is logical to assume that enchantments do not work.))

((The magic was disabled by something that was applied the characters themselves, weakening them. Logically, if magic was disabled by a perturbation to a character's condition, the enchantments may still work.))
