Magic is, functionally, the ability to break the natural laws of the universe. Darnos could violate natural entropy, for instance, and induce it in object he concentrated on. You, Isaac, can spontaneously generate matter. Medea can manipulate gravity to her whim. By all rights it should be impossible for this phenomenon to even exist, let alone affect the world to the extent it has today. So my question for you is why? Why does magic exist, and why does is only manifest itself in certain individuals like yourselves?
This room will provide you with any resources you may need to answer the question.
