Victoria rests Selina's head on her lap while she sits down in a more comfortable position, lightly stroking Selina's face. "Sleep well, m- uh... Selina..." Victoria was about to say 'my love', but couldn't even choke it out. She knew it was would someone in a romantic relationship would say, but she couldn't say it. It seemed so impersonal; professional, almost. It was a bit too similar to other words Victoria used in the past. "the target", "the hostile", "the victims" or "the casualties" which were used to designate either people she had to kill or people caught in the conflicts she had to file reports on. To refer to Selina by any ambiguous terms, in Victoria's mind at least, implied she'd harm her or let her be harmed and to insinuate that would be simply unacceptable. She knew she was simply overreacting to something quite minor but she also knew that she would never refer to Selina in such a manner. It already took a whole five weeks for Not!Selina to convince her to occasionally use the designation of 'slave' to refer to her and even then she tended to say it reluctantly. Plus she only agreed since she technically was harming her, even if Not!Selina liked it. She hoped Selina wouldn't mind that.
