I know that there's a button to see how much money you've spent on Steam but I am actively choosing not to push it.  I can't handle that shit.

Thanks for the warning, friend.  Now I know not to delve too deep into my account info...
Some things are not meant to be known, particularly after 9 years of Steam.

My first purchase was Napoleon: Total War, bought it retail had to install steam, was all like "pffft, i'll never use this" and here I am 3 years later.

(not to derail this cool thread idea, but including the game on a disk bypasses most of the download afaik.  In which case Steam is mostly just DRM, and an excellent social gaming hub imho.)
(I bought a "physical copy" of Skyrim and it took just as long to download as it does from scratch)

First game on my account was Half-Life 2 (boy has Steam come a long way since then!), the first actual purchase was Portal in January of '08.

Doesn't seem like I've had my Steam account for that long. Time flies, I guess.

... where is it? Found the purchase history, but can't seem to find a convenient "total" button.

Might be thinking of something like SteamCalculator or Steam Gauge. They're websites that you enter your Steam ID into and they tally up the value of all the software on your account.

Empire: Total War, back in early 2009, was my first Steam game, and like all the rest of you, it was only because the stupid thing forced me to have it.  The worst part was back then I didn't have an internet connection in my home so I had to lug my desktop to a friend's house to install the game.  I was so very, very pissed at the time.

OK, I have to reload the save.
There was a bit of a problem regarding flashfreezing, a ballistae, and a barrel of dwarven ale. Gonna fix it up.

The first Sven set in Dota 2 for my current Steam
For my old one was a .50 thing on Hat Fortress.

Yeah, there isn't one. I've heard too that SteamCalculator uses the full prices of games and doesn't always work correctly, so it's far from convenient.

Total War: Shogun 2 - Fall of the Samurai on April 5th, 2012.

That was right after I upgraded the graphics card on my desktop because the old one died, and started to transition to PC gaming in preparation for getting a laptop for college over the summer.

Half-Life 1 Anthology, on 17 Jun 2009. It was actually a CD/DVD/whatever that I bought and activated on Steam, my first "on steam" purchase was the Terraria 4-pack that I bought the day it was released(16 may 2011). Anyway, I bought HL1 to play the Earth's Special Forces mod, hehe. Funny thing is that I'm still waiting for the new version of ESF, and every year I think "It's gonna be released this year!".

Where's this button? I'm curious now :P

Like I said 2 posts before yours, in response to a few more posts on the subject, there isn't one.
