Shall we decide what races exist, or cover the gods first?

Well, we can cover this in a First Pass, can't we?  How about we all pick a Period or Event to flesh out some milestones along the way, including defining the early gods and first races?

I think gods can be a good start.

I would suggest having several generations of gods that keep succeding each other in wars. This Divine wars would sometimes have repercursions on the mortal realm, which might lead to some cool events. (Yes, I like the titanomachy and the Ragnarok)

Which leads me to one last palette suggestion from me:
Gods might give power to mortals. They don't usually split their power or give too much power, as it makes them vulnerable, but in times of crisis, they might choose Chosen Ones.

EDIT: NINJAS!!! Alright. I suggest one race: the orcs.

The orcs are humanoids of big size. They are strong and tough and of black skin, and they have a link with nature. This link makes them sometimes fall into a feral state while fighting, but also gives them some great regenerating abilities. Although they cannot grow lost limbs, this regeneration allows them to live for a long time (centuries in some cases) as long as they don't get killed. They would start by living in tribes, and would not change unless something really big happened. They are not stupid, but are not as interested in science or magic as the other races.

As monk said in the other game, specifics do not need to come in Palette - any races that are willed into existence during play, exist, unless they violate the Palette choices. Anything else is needlessly limiting.

However, I would ask us not to begin until everyone has had a chance to contribute to the Palette. That includes me still, mind you.

+1 to god generations.

The first generation of gods, who made the world, are: Ae, the Wind King; Io, the Earth Lord; and Uy, the Sea Queen. They created the world and its basic ecosystem.

Alright, let's stop for a bit until everyone has contributed to the palette.

I've always liked magic, so I'd like to suggest a modification.

Innate magical talent is scarce. Creatures that use some kind of innate magic exist, but are scarce, and hugely powerful magic users (Gifted, as GWG said) are rare. It is possible for those without magical talent to learn simple tricks, but even the greatest of these "Magicians" are weaker than the average Gifted.

I will relent however, if the rest of you want to keep magic as it is. Also, I'm fine with the rest of the palette suggestions.

Maybe these simple tricks could be based around the propierties of certain materials and some alchemy, so it's not magic, but it looks like it.

Gifted aren't people good at magic. They're normal people, with one magical schtick.

Perhaps, tying into the god generations, the world is full of people, races, et cetera being brought down by their children/servants/lesser, younger beings. This might not merit a Palette mention, but could be a later Focus too. Anyway.

I saw this suggestion in the other thread, I think; With every Period, the Gods raise up a Chosen One that seems to exemplify that age, with many of the events of the times involving them in one manner or another.

1: Altright as a focus. Maybe adding it later as Renewal.
2: Maybe, more than one Chosen One, a Chosen One and his descendents? Like the Belmont family in Castlevania

I was thinking more of a zeitgeist personification - a person or being who's - in appearance, personality, everything - what the age is and will be about. (So if at a seemingly peaceful time you get a violent maniac, you might start worrying a bit). Though multiple Chosen Ones per age is fine.

O god, i didn't know this was going on.
Palette: Gods are real beings and can be seen as VERy powerful creatures, not a power who is omnisient and omnibeing. They walk the earth like any other being but have great powers and are immortal. Like EXTREMELY Gifted.

This seems logical, as gods are going to be replaced, but maybe we could detail that they usually live in some place very difficult to get to (Asgard in Norse mithology or Mount Olympus in Greek mithology)
