I start with a smart founder, able to tailor. Using his skills, I get money from the various dresses and suits he makes. But behind his fashion empire is a secret.
A secret dressed in Seal stealth armor and armed with a combat knife. They lead a true army, made of sleeper police officers, CCS members, spies, security teams and bank managers. These bank managers alone embezzle enough money to completely fund the liberal crime squad. This assassin goes in the night, stabbing CEOs, hacking into CIA computers, singlehandedly and covertly snatching a bank manager and cracking open vaults. He is the grand master, the conservative's boogeyman, and the liberal's hero. He is the driving force of the LCS, and without him, it would be nothing.
He alone brings USA to greatness.

I build agility with a nice intelligence to back it up. The first thing I do is rob the bank, just the standard 'Fill the bag with money', not the 'Open the vault' kind. I use that money to max out my tailoring, start making and selling clothes, and then start breaking into places to get my lockpicking and stealth up. Depending on where those skills are when the bank goes back to normal security, I threaten the teller with my new knife, steal all the money, and walk out. Then I buy a fancy new car and invest in my safehouse. Along the way, I recruit sleepers to level up my seduction and persuasion, and to get maps. From there, I start breaking into higher level locations. Any sleeper that gets caught either starts writing for the LG, or is forced to leave. From there its just grinding the high level locations.

I start people out with graffitti to safely get them to decent juice, then send them stealing and smashing to get them fairly safe.  Once I have a decent, small squad assembled I start recruiting low level sleepers everywhere I want to go.  Hit the conservative media like a red headed stepchild to get juice way up.  Recruit powerful sleepers.  Profit.

I suck, but here's my general strat. It's pretty close to the one in the beginners guide:

Make leader as charismatic as possible. He does not commit crimes, ever.

Go to vegan co-op and recruit people with huge heart, charisma, and int. I think liberal lawyers were a good choice, can't remember. These are the subleaders. They can commit crimes for the purposes of gaining juice, but keep it as low as possible so they can stay in one of the shitty safehouses and not get raided.

Buy a spraycan and have the subleaders go out and get 50 juice from graffiti.

Send the subleaders out to the vegan co-op, and schedule appointments with hippies. Only talk with them, never bribe. Time for some 'W' spam and make sure you really spam it once each subleader has the max amount of scheduled appointments, and all the appointments are obsessed and can't leave. Stop once they all have maxed persuasion.

Create a violence squad. I like to have police, Death Squad members, veterans, etc. in it. I mainly look at agility, but a bit at heart and health. Nice is also a rifle skillMake sure each squad has one lockpicker who carries a crowbar. These squads will be juice machines, and should be armed to the teeth. Spare no expense. Everyone but the lockpicker should have a shotgun or rifle. Ideally they will eventually look exactly like police, and should be armed accordingly when you have the outfits to do so. I've been known to send subleaders out with these guys, replacing one of the gunmen and having them go to the cosmetic or genetics place, to get massive juice.

Create a hacker squad. Just go to the internet cafe and find people with good computer skills and int. These are incredible. Get one squadful, and just put them in a nice safehouse and let them hack all day. They produce minor amounts of heat, generate an ample amount of money, and find a lot of secret documents.

I generally get one fashion designer. She sits in the house that is the loot storage, fixes clothes, and does the shopping trips to sell stuff.

I have a founder who maximizes their Persuasion, Seduction, Disguise, Stealth, and has very high Security, by going on numerous solo raids where he hits on all the Conservatives and talks about issues to all the Liberals, while ignoring all Moderates, and picks the locks on all the doors, and steals huge amounts of loot (but never doing the lockpicking or stealing loot if there are any witnesses). So the founder never gets caught doing crimes, and eventually through this play style I get their juice up to 200 and they are an Urban Commando. They also end up with loads of money from stealing all the loot and selling it at the Pawnshop. They also develop a very high Tailoring skill, making various outfits, and ultimately the outfit of choice is SEAL Stealth Armor (before I get that, the first outfit of choice is the Trenchcoat, and then the Ninja Costume, until I am able to make a SEAL Stealth Armor). If Stealth goes up all the way but Disguise isn't maxed out, I max it out by going someplace in an Elephant Suit or Donkey Suit (those both have zero stealth value but hide your face so nobody knows who you are), and then max out Disguise while dressed as an Elephant or Donkey. Once all of that is maxed out and I've made at least one of every type of armor that I can tailor, and I've also bought everything sold at the Pawnshop, the Oubliette, and the Department Store, well around that time I also steal cars until I manage to steal a Sportscar, those are the best cars, and of course I avoid getting caught by the cops or anyone, so I still have a completely blank criminal record and 0 heat, but 200 Juice. Now once all those stats are maxed out and I have a Sportscar, it's time to start kidnapping huge numbers of Conservatives after taking them out on dates. I typically use a Combat Knife since it's easy to conceal but intimidates them when I kidnap them. At places where there's Metal Detectors I use Spraypaint instead, it can also be used to intimidate people on dates and kidnap them. I start out small with the kidnappings, focusing on Teenagers, Security Guards, etc., types that are very easy to convert to Liberal, and make sure that every Conservative I kidnap ends up as a Sleeper. Also, during interrogations, I always wear Bondage Gear, it is the best for interrogation. Anyway, once I max out the Psychology skill by turning small fry all over the place (at least 1 in every building) into Sleepers, I turn more and more high-ranking Conservatives into Sleepers by taking them out on dates and kidnapping them and then doing interrogation in Bondage Gear (and of course having a Sportscar to drive rather than taking them back to the base on foot, since they usually get away if it's on foot). And I STILL have no crimes that I'm wanted for and 0 heat after ALL THIS. Once I have a HUGE amount people converted to Sleepers, I do some other things to max out some other skills. For instance, I go around with a Guitar and play it at Conservatives at various sites, and by doing this a bunch of times, I max out the Music skill as well as the Dodge skill, and still don't have anything on my criminal record. Then, once I'm done with maxing out skills and collecting Sleepers, and am finally ready to start doing things that get my founder stuff on his criminal record, I turn my founder into a hacker. First my founder checks public opinion polls until their Computers skill gets up to 1, and once the Computers skill is 1, they do nothing but Hacking. Also, by this point where the hacking starts, the founder, along with all items, has been moved to a safehouse that has a business front as well as a printing press, as well as pretty much everything else, except the anti-aircraft gun since that's too expensive. Then every month, one of the documents from the founder's hacking activities gets put in the Liberal Guardian newspaper. Meanwhile with the Sleepers, I carefully monitor them. Anyone whose infiltration is up in the zone where the color is red is set to Promote Liberalism, while everyone who is purple or yellow or lower is set to Laying Low. Then I just continue having the founder be a hacker, printing the results of the hacking in the Liberal Guardian every month, and having all the Sleepers whose infiltration is in the red zone (above 80%) Promoting Liberalism while the Sleepers with lower infiltration are all Laying Low, and I regularly check on all the Sleepers as their infiltration values fluctuate and adjust which ones are Promoting Liberalism and which ones are Laying Low accordingly. Typically I have around 50 Sleepers. Anyway, I just do this for several years. The founder does get lots of things on his criminal record once he becomes a hacker, yes. But for some reason, one hacker alone, the police don't ever come after them, especially not in a safehouse with a business front, not enough heat I guess.

Anyway, if you can follow those instructions, you can easily beat the game with only 1 Active Liberal in the LCS, namely the founder (not counting any of the dozens of Sleepers). If you do a good job following those instructions, you can turn the country Elite Liberal sometime around the year 2020, either in November 2020 or sometime in 20201 (since for the 8 years between 2012 and 2020, you'll probably have just a regular Liberal as President and not an Elite Liberal, although during that time both Congress and the Supreme Court become Elite Liberal, and then in the 2020 elections you'll finally get an Elite Liberal President, and then depending on whether or not all the Issues are at Elite Liberal status, you'll either win the game in November 2020 or sometime in 2021).

I'm curious, though, does anyone have any strategies that work for turning the entire country Elite Liberal BEFORE November 2020? (For instance, somehow getting an Elite Liberal elected President in 2012.) I wonder what strategy turns the country Elite Liberal the fastest. I suppose technically, the earliest possible date you could liberalize the country is November 2012, since prior to that you have an Arch-Conservative President the first 4 years. But making the entire country Elite Liberal in less than 4 years, between January 2009 and November 2012, that is quite the challenge, I wonder if anyone here has strategies that work THAT fast.

It can be done in lots of ways. Here's a way to do it with only your founder and no sleepers (note that this is a method designed for efficiency, it can get a bit tedious implementing it):
-Start a new game, and with your leader max out intelligence, heart and charisma, especially charisma (it's effectively worth twice as much as the others for this)
-talk to hippies to max persuasion while getting your hands on either an expensive suit or an expensive dress and training disguise.
-If you don't mind commiting crimes, get your hands on a disguise and raid apartments. First unlock all the doors, but don't go through them. Then steal from them. Before leaving, if the conservatives are not alarmed, repeatedly wait by the door so you can train your disguise on them. Leave as soon as the alarm is raised
-Carry skilling and juicing up until your combined intelligence, heart, charisma, music, religion, science, business and persuasion is at least 72.
-Go to the AM radio station or cable news station. Break in and perform a broadcast. Try not to get any heat.
-Repeat the previous step indefinitely

I've never had a game go for longer than '18. I either game over in '11 or get the ball rolling so quickly the country elects a L+ president in '12.

Yeah, I already do those steps the way I play the game.

-Go to the AM radio station or cable news station. Break in and perform a broadcast. Try not to get any heat.
-Repeat the previous step indefinitely

THAT'S the part I don't do. I thought performing a broadcast at AM Radio or Cable News was illegal and added to your rap sheet, it also Alarms the Conservatives, and if you get the AM Radio and Cable News people really pissed off, their fans can do raids on your hideout, too. And I didn't really think it had THAT big an impact on public opinion. So you're saying that AM Radio and Cable News performances give a huge boost in public opinion, without adding ANY heat to get the police after you? I thought that if you change the public views on AM Radio and Cable News enough, those things are no longer capable of influencing the public (for instance, if the approval rating of AM Radio gets down to 0%, then a Sleeper Radio Personality becomes completely ineffective at Advocating Liberalism, if I am not mistaken, and the same would go for a Sleeper Cable News Anchor who is Advocating Liberalism when the approval rating of Cable News gets down to 0%). But maybe if you repeatedly do raids on targets that are very unpopular with the public, then this makes the public actually APPROVE of the Liberal Crime Squad? And I guess since AM Radio and Cable News are the 2 main organizations that advocate Conservatism, neutralizing them through endless raids (as long as you don't mess up and Alienate Everyone) is probably a good strategy. But if you raid a place and do a lot of damage it gets Closed Down for awhile. So it's not like you can raid AM Radio and Cable News every day. And I guess the Hicks, Rubes, Country Boys, Rednecks, Yokels, etc. who are fans of those are easy to defeat if they do a raid on your hideout. So maybe the last step in your strategy (which is the only part that isn't part of my strategy), namely lots of raids on AM Radio and Cable News where you actually do broadcasts that get on your criminal rap sheet, might be a powerful enough tactic to work.

Still, converting the entire country to L+ and winning in 2012, that is pretty amazing, winning that fast. I have actually played many different versions of LCS over the years, even the old version by Tarn Adams. And it has definitely improved a whole lot since then and become much more sophisticated, and many strategies that could be exploited to easily win the game in older versions no longer work. For instance, I'm pretty sure that you used to be able to just keep stealing things to get your Juice all the way up to 1000. And you used to be able to have as many meetings to Persuade people to join as you wanted, dozens a day, or even hundreds... now the game cuts the number down to 6. And fundraising money used to be much, much easier too. And earlier versions didn't have the Conservative Crime Squad at all. And in earlier versions, if you had a character with really high stats and abilities, they were like a god and would have like a 99.9% success rate at all sorts of things, like for instance, someone with really high Charisma and Seduction would be able to get people to say yes to going on dates 99.9% of the time, maybe even 100% of the time. And this was also true for many other skills and activities too, making the game full of exploits to take advantage of to EASILY win. But since that time, LCS has gotten MUCH more advanced and one by one, they've been removing exploits like those that allow you to easily win without much effort, making the game more challenging, but also adding things to make it more interesting and fun, too. Right now in the game, Stealth is very powerful, especially now that there are Sneak Attacks. I think that might be changed in a future version, since it seems whenever one type of skill gets too powerful, the developers make it less powerful. Oh yeah, and the legal system has totally been changed, it used to be that my founder could commit huge, huge numbers of heinous crimes, and then easily get found Not Guilty EVERY SINGLE TIME, just on the basis of having huge amounts of Charisma, Intelligence, Persuasion, Law, Juice, Heart, etc. That's definitely not true anymore. Now you can end up getting found guilty and having a harsh sentence, even if you do everything to try and rig the judicial system, with Sleepers, and having very very high skills and defending yourself in court.

Iirc, the broadcast itself doesn't generate heat,soOif you keep your nose clean you'll be fine.

Also iirc, the broadcast itself won't put the site in danger of closing down, so you can do it Wausau.

I got an L+ President in 2012 once. All I did was get a team of 6 that I put into a squad called the "Liberal Guardian." Two just wrote news all day and the other 4 played music/sold art. I had a second four man squad called the "Liberal Security Team" to protect them, and my "Hacktivist" in an off site safe house with his own security team, since hackers tend to accumulate juice REALLY fast.

I just passed the Elite Liberal Amendment in 2011. I just had a bunch of expendable Army Veterans run around shooting places up in other cities while my founder trained his stealth abilities to train future hackers into getting the backer list.

I've gone through aboot 3 whole squads of these expendables, too, the first one was hippies. My founder has like 500 Juice and no crimes it's great.

I'm actually so proud of myself, I think this is the first run where I've done no cheating at all (Making a mistake on a squad outing and closing the application and trying again at the start of the day) and it's going super well

What's that one Conservative doing there in Congress? There ought to be ZERO Conservatives in Congress in an Elite Liberal Nation. The presence of even one Conservative in government is a disgrace to the Elite Liberal Cause. You should do another purge of high-ranking government officials, as Stalin did before us. Counter-revolutionaries that high in the ranks cannot be tolerated, comrade.

Recent games involve lots of hostage taking for infiltration, along with stealth in trenchcoats. It's surprising how easy AM Radio Stations become to raid with a car and some captured conservatives.

I've haven't been playing long, so my overall combat strategy is a work in progress (as is my late-game strategy). However, I typically run three different "main" squads:

An activist squad: These do the legal money-earning and my tailor is always part of this group. Early on I send them on graffiti detail to get arrested a lot and boost my sleeper lawyer. Later on they do nothing but legal income. They tend to become pointless as the late-game comes in and the country is full of liberals so I normally just have three - one for art, one for music, and one for tailoring. I get these guys right away, so I also use them to help boost my Founder's persuasion, by having lots of meetings. I also do massive recruiting drives to make sure I find people with suitable stats (8 or 9 in the primary and enough Heart and low enough Wisdom they hopefully don't turn on me during their repeated stays in the justice system at the start).

A prostitution squad: I use two of these. One with a single person with as high a charisma as I could find, who eventually becomes my main Sleeper creator, both through seduction and persuasion. The second squad is three people who are picked up a little later (by the Founder) that actually do prostitution and are often my main source of income.

A combat squad: I find one person early on who can serve as the teacher for the others and get that person to work on increasing their skills right away. Generally, this person uses the crack house as a training ground, so their training regimen typically involves a month-long killing spree, followed by months of study at the university.

While those three squads are doing their thing, my Founder does whatever I set him/her up for. I get very attached to my Founder and tend to treat him/her as a "main character" though that isn't strictly necessary in this game. With that being said, I also love trying to see how many crimes I can rack up with my Founder while staying out of prison. If the Founder does get arrested, what happens next depends on the kind of game I'm playing - either the main prostitute walks into the courthouse in disguise to free the Founder, or the combat squad raids the courthouse.
