Hello fricy

While I cannot speak on behalf of Briess, I don't think it has anything to do with your user name. I think you got hit by the broad strokes to remove spambot accounts from the wiki. That explains the second part of the block message: "Suspected spammer."
Unfortunately there is no certain way to identify the bots.

Hi Fricy, Nahno is right.  If I see a username created and no edits for that user in a short period, I block it.  I'm sorry I caught you in the dragnet - you have been unblocked. Thanks for letting me know!

I checked. Holy sh•t they do it by the hundreds. Wow.

Sad thing is, those are only the ones that get through the preliminary spam filters.  We get something about 100k spam registration attempts per day, and I have to block about 20 of them manually.
