Shit, I have no idea if the 40k verse has special wedding rites or what have you. Also whenever I type now I have to physically remind myself not to hit caps lock or put an exclamation mark at the end of every sentence.

It would depend on the world and the religion, I would expect. There are a lot of different Emperor-worshipping religions, after all, and a lot of worlds with completely different customs.
