Having nothing better to do, Richard looks all around, trying to get a better idea of individual people in the room, the centers of attention, if you will. The beacons of social activity, the obviously powerful. The cool people, in short. As well as the bad people. The good kind of bad, you know. And to round it off, he looks for somebody who looks as hopelessly lost as he is. You never know. Maybe he isn't the least informed in the room for once.
