They're very special, aren't they? Especially the armor.
Guns are very good at what they are meant to do: Kill enemies/prey that have biology similar to that of most terrestrial animals. But what happens if we fight, say, a giant, malevolent slime mold? Bullets pass right through it, but a sword or mace or something would disrupt it severely. Similarly if the enemy is, well, just about
anything without vital organs and blood.
In addition, it might be that well-magicked weapons are better than the best-made mundane weapons, and guns either can't or are hard/dangerous to make magic, presumably due to being powered by explosions rather than muscle.
Actually, if a mace is effective against it a bullet is likely to be just as effective, with the added bonus of not needing to get close. A sword or fire is likely to be more effective, of course.
Not so. A bullet basically pokes a little hole in the enemy. A mace can tear a big chunk out of the slime, or at least use its wide surface area and the fact that you're swinging it to disrupt the slime a lot better.

Ducking into this thread to say that the true master race is the one that is most prominent and has the most chance of continuing. Unlike the rare 50ppp race, likely having too small a population to be genetically viable, 15ppp is far more prevalent.
In conclusion, 50ppp dodos, 15ppp master race.
