north of iceland until he was 15 and recieved his contract afterward he took
the name of Surt after the king of Muspellheim in norse myth. during his time
in iceland he learnt to control his power in a roundabout manner.

All I got was that it's a spelling variant of 'volcanism', which is something about volcanoes.
