Its a program like Hamachi, that is what we are using. Its pretty straightforward to use. Just download it its for free.

download it, follow isntructions to create an accaunt, then open it.
filter it for games you have, find the game hosted by ghazkull, and join.

edit: a quick google search will find the program.

I hope they'll kill each other in 15 minutes. I want to play too, dammit! ;)

UBERLATEEDIT: So, I've discovered that heroes and empires is not protected. Which means I can open it in world_edit.

Which means I can fix the economy. Probably.

EDIT_2: By fixing it I mean giving empires reason to expand and conquer. Like I think in HaE 2 there are rare resources which periodically spawn on the map and give quite a lot of gold if you can deliver it to your capital. Something like this, only with less crashes and desyncs.

Right now, the only possible reward for attacking another Empire is a patchy road network you often enough won't even use.

Maybe something like the system from Risk, where you gain money from controlling territories, and bonus money for controlling a specific set of them. Or maybe make that so different troops require different resources to produce which you can only find in certain areas of the map. That would be pretty difficult to implement though, heh.
