Hi guys. I have a question. How would a dwarf propose to his future fiancée dwarf style? I have this idea and all I need is dwarf language. Guys have any ideas?

Well, what kind of 'dwarf' are we talking about? The Tolkein version or the mythology version?

Because I'm all in for the notion of transcribing a gift with ancient runes based on those certain languages dependant on what source you're aiming for.

What dwarf language? The DF dictionary is kind of incomplete, but I think Tolkien has a full language.

Dwarf fortress dwarves. Based on this game. I need ideas. I want to propose to my boyfriend dwarf fortress style. I need to know what to say to my boyfriend through the mouth of a dwarf. I checked on google and all I could find was Tolkien dwarves or the 7 dwarves. I have no clue how a dwarf talks and that's my only concern. Thanks guys btw. Hrm, well this goes into the line of semantics quite well.

..Err, its quite different when you prod on DF lore on how Dwarves speak. Usually, its just the normal English..and as far as my memory s-

But still. How Dwarves talk in DF is basically normal english. The language Toady uses is..seems like a match of english to fantasy words.

However this gem might give you an idea of how the Dwarven (DF) language is matched with english! ^ ^

IMO, a bit..tongue twisty. But that's just me and English-being-my-not-primary-language.

If you go into the DF folder, there should be a subfolder labelled raws. Then you need to go into objects, then, there are language files (.txts, btw). Find the dwarf one. No idea how helpful it would be, but worth a try. If that doesn't work try searching dwarf or dwarves or dwarfs. Soon someone with more knowledge should be able to tell you what I've got wrong (I am not at my DFPC at the moment). Finally, Good Luck!

It's basically his favourite game. He will play other stuff but he always comes back to this game. No matter what game he plays, if there's a dwarf character he will take it. I want to propose in dwarfish way since I'm pretty sure he would not understand dwarfish.

You should totally replace all nouns in your sentence with their DF counterparts from the language file.
