Neon, maybe rouqegame isnt your  cup of tea? ^^ I think its good that its hard, then it feel more rewarding when you find that fisingpole after searching and near death for example. Most games nowadays havce all these stuff that make the accomplish part so tiny or just an illiusion. Like asses creed 4

Read some more of your feedback and it either sounds like you got bad luck or not trying out different ways.

Usually i capture a level 1/2 pirate ship, then raid 2,3 island ( before sailing away i always buy 2-3 sfoods from the local shop just in case.) And as i said you can collect bananas, coconauts and maybe other things to give some food to your crew)
Im also sure the devs are looking for furmore food sources, as farming crops, hunting wild animals .

I think all feedback can be usefull in some way,so with everthing you wrote and thought, maybe they will look into it or contiue on their sea to fame and treasures =) cheers




  Dev, whats your record in days survived ?  I just meet a really big enemy ship, lucky for me i had an cannon so after an short but intense battle with earnest(sounds so much like honest )My crew  repelled back and i managed to make a beatiful hole in their ship

What will be cool is when we implement finding your OLD ship and getting much of your old loot back to give you that extra head start and progressiveness. Currently you die and restart, but what if you were to find your OLD captain floating in the wreckage eh? You could have him become your captain again, with his old loot, his +8 sabre etc etc

Right now tavern people and towns folk are 2 different factions, and once they see a fight going on.. they will start battle each other its feature and a bug

Actually play some roguelikes to know where I am coming from.

May I suggest Nethack, FTL, or IVAN.

I am mostly being dismissive because your response really just amounts to: "THIS IS TOUGH MAN! This aint yo mamma's game that gives you a bottle and puts you to bed. This is tough REAL tough, and if you aint good enough to handle it then that is your problem"

Of which my response is: "You are flat out wrong and my view is based upon how the difficulty curve of the game is extremely unforgiving in what should be the part of the game that lets the players get their feet wet EVEN FOR A ROGUELIKE... along with the fact that a lot of what determines if you live or die in the early game amounts to flat out luck with very little way to mitigate it. It means that it starts to reach that level of unappreciative difficulty.. I can appreciate difficulty"

Also remember, I don't get "Coconuts" because I am playing a version before you even got any.

More than possible with fish or firing all crew and slowly subsisting off of what money and food you have left. playing straight for 8 hours though is questionable. I guess it depends.

It would be neat if you could find your old ship, but it has become a ghost ship full of your old crew. Works both with the common roguelike feature of "bones files" (running into your previous character's ghost) and the pirate theme.

Well I found a parrot on an island hopping around looking angry. I couldn't interact or grab it, so I declared war on it and my crew wound up killing it.

Just played our steam release version, I was going in critical, I wanted to nitpick and pull it apart because that's how we always work, but it's just so hard now. I spent 45 minutes playing, just enjoying the game for the first time. It was a special moment. I always LIKE the game, but I've never just forgotten about everything else and PLAYED the dang thing due to it being, well, OUR game.

I'm really proud right now and feel this is ready for the public, thank you all so much for bringing us this far, for helping this become a reality, and for always supporting us, we are so lucky and humbled by all of this and we promise to make due on the faith you have all deposited in us.

Tomorrow is the big day!

Thanks guys, we are off to a relatively good start. I was to be expected being sandwiched between all the holiday sales and all, but heck, we are on steam, we are selling our early access product, we got Desura users steam keys and we are having absolutely lovely feedback.

People enjoy the game and hate the difficulty, so we will be toning it down in upcoming patches and even add an easier mode which will let you save.

That way the game will cater to Niche hardcore players, and to general players as well.
