Still can't play though...

Unless they let you delete saves now or someone tells me where this game secretly saves.

I've overwritten saves by simply clicking new game, and then the slot I want to overwrite.

Still would like to know where it is hiding saves.

You could take note of all the files int he folder, make a save game, and see what has been added.

Silly man, it doesn't save inside the folder. It saves somewhere else on the computer.

I should know... whenever I delete it, my saves stay.

So far, lots of fun with this since the early "ship designer" build fell on my hands.

  • Right now I haven't had issues with pathfinding and my mateys seem to be competent enough to know where to stand and how to avoid drowning, which happens a lot on small islands. However, for ship designing purposes, it would be great to have a tooltip that tells you which blocks are walkable and which aren't (maybe with a color code and/or a small legend?) and also which ones are solid and tell them apart from those that are not.
  • You should be able to tell from the store, specifically in the "sell" interface, which weapons have been upgraded, or at least a slight name change ("polished cutlass" or something akin to that, but better, as you're wont to do). Also, a major quirk that maybe has been already said here, but it would be a great benefit to get a small selling price for looted weapons, $0 is just too discouraging, and weird. Maybe I didn't had enough sea cred to ask for a small revenue from my overseas exploits.
  • Is morale currently implemented? Seasoned crewmen always appear to be a sad bunch with those depleted morale bars. This isn't even a suggestion or anything, just thought that they could be happier while killing a few tribesmen. Haven't found rum yet, so I might be missing something
  • Another miscellaneous improvement: a small tooltip or icon that tells you which kind of vendors or stores are inside an already visited island when you mouse over it. If that sounds too easy for a roguelike challenge, then maybe just disclose that info when the crew has at least a single Navigator.
  • To explore a long portion of the harsh, unforgiving world I was sailing through without spending too much money on food, I found and exploited a small bug: when you delete an almost depleted Food Cache and place it back again with the Ship Setup, its' contents are restored anew. With that, you can feed even a huge crew (with a wee bit of micromanagement) using only a single stack of fruit.

Treasure chests on really small islands tend to scatter their contents below the sea, much to the chagrin of my greedy scurvydogs. And also, what are those vendors whose stores are empty, and don't even offer a trade option?

Keep up the good work, guys. As an end-note, these small things appears on almost every island, town, encounter and travel intermission, a few screens to the left of your ship.

Crew morale goes down due to you not paying their wages! Click on the crew equip screen and on the left of them there is a "pay your crew" button!

If not whoops that's on the internal version we have and it'll be in soon haha.

Also, 0$ sales are being corrected, it's just a chore to get to and other things are taking priority.

SUPER happy you guys like the game so much!

Awesome!

There's a small nitpick, again: when you sell your upgrade stones, the sell menu says "Cutlass sword" and list it as a weapon without damage values and with a price of $10. However, when you sell it, you receive nothing from it.

Thought you would like to correct the name and price thingy. Again, thanks for letting us test this forthcoming jewel.

Hey everyone, these past weeks have been HECTIC. Loads of additions to the game, and I'll be going into the largest ones right now, I know most have been in the revisions you have played through already so for some this is not new news, but I want to let everyone know what the in's and out's of the game are like for now!

Loot system:

Now you can pick up loot from fallen enemies and opened treasure chests, and it all does something different. Upgradeable weapons are in, but more on that in the progression system post.  You can now get new weapons, armor, and items that offer certain benefits and stat upgrades. We plan on shoehorning in as much loot as possible to make this game cater to that Diablo itch we all have deep down inside.

Progression System:

Your pirates now have different stats that can be levelled up through use of that pirate, and you now hire each class seperately. All of them can enter combat, but only a cook will cook, a fisherman will fish, a sailor will mop the deck of poo, etc.

Besides that there's WEAPON progression, where you will get different items to advance the skills and stats of certain weapons. For now it's limited to the Grindstone item, but we eventually want you to be able to imbue your awesome spear of awesomeness with so much awesome that your mind will come out of your face and slap you, no joke...

Morale system:

Individual pirates have Morale now, they WILL get upset, moody and straight up not work for your captain if you don't pay them, give them time off, or reprimand them occasionally. Hope you have fun with a mutiny while an enemy boards you, nothing like fighting enemies on TWO fronts to keep a captain on his toes!

Salary Payment:

As stated before your pirates morale goes down, but you can counteract it for a time by PAYING them! Who would have thought that paying your employees would keep them from gouging your eyes out in your sleep, but I digress..

Enemy Ships.

We are scripting in MANY new enemy ships for you to encounter, and want the final tally to be absurdly high when the final game comes out. This way you'll have to think about each encounter, where and how to attack, and treat each with a seperate strategy, have fun!

Cannon Combat:

Yeah, nuff said, Cannon's work perfectly now, and will blow the enemy ship sky high, but do you WANT to sink it before taking that precious cargo or treasure?

Played the last build I found on this thread, and had FUN with it, specially when my captain bugged out while grappling to an island and drowned. Or when I opened a chest and the captain exploded (maybe from hunger), and also learning what bugs the ship while shipbuilding.

I see great potential here, haven't read much about the game but I like it a lot already.

OH, yeah: Dead men tell no tales! is that what those pixelated little pirates say?  :P

It honestly feels like a lot of their problems came from the fact that their entire team was composed of cats, and the people who were supposed to be herding them were also cats.

As much as I love the game and aesthetic. I am horrible at it.

The one time I was doing good I had to save out real quick (while grappling to the boat) to take care of my kids. Loaded up, grapple was gone, captain drowned. XD

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?
