PTW for sure, While FTL did a great first try in my opinion it still felt a little shallow and it got repetitive after only a few games, i hope this improves on said concept. Looks great so far (im not hurt by special effects)

From what i have seen so far, this has tons of potential! i love those new sails.

Now all we need is the ability to steal parrots, monkeys and other animals (stolen gorillas?) from the islands to serve as pets on the ship and the feature list and description is enough for me to throw money at it.

Interested in the game, MORE interested in seeing what it looks like without all the filtering junk.

+1 to it looking exactly like you took a pick of an old monitor with an old camera.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

It's unbelievably.. bright.. The colors, that is. I hate to say it, but i find it repelling  :o

If it looked more like on the logo, on the upper right, it'd be a hundred times better.

I guess the problem is that all that light really reduces the contrast, and so things look a bit "flavourless". When I think pirates I think the nice brown from the oak used to build the ships, the dark blue of green of the sea, the light blue of the sky, white in the sails, black from the tarred ropes, striped shirts, brilliant officer uniforms, etc.

This is more like a sunny but really foggy day!

So... will the games combat resemble "king arthurs gold"?

I'm personally a fan of saturation in games. I'm really sick of washed out colours. I think it would be better to go for the saturated look if you're aiming for a game that looks like it takes place in the Caribbean/any generic tropical environment.

As for the game itself I'm extremely interested. I have a weak spot for pirate games ever since playing the crap out of Sid Meier's Pirates!. I doubt it will scratch the itch I've had for a pirate simulation with Mount and Blade-like combat but I doubt it still won't be fun. I'll be watching this thread extremely closing waiting for that download link to appear.  :)

The brightness doesn't bother me, but looking at the picture a bit I realized that it seems the shadows/lighting is a little odd.  Like the tiles of the ship deck look shaded, even though they have direct access to the sunlight.  I'm not sure how easy that is to fix though...  Maybe solid blocks shouldn't be shadowed at all?

I'd still play it regardless though.   :P

Luckily it's all in alpha right now. I'm sure graphics aren't the focus this early on.
