It's not sentiment or pacifistic behavior, it's self preservation. My advantage is at I make armies twice as fast normally compared to him on a fertile land province. His advantage is that a single one of his armies is worth two or more of mine.

One day, clouds gatehred above the Longwood fort. The Gor'tuhn pointed at the sky and grumbled - and suddenly thunderbolts began to rain on them! The heavenly lances struck their entire squads and turned them into a crisp. It was clearly a work of magic - murderous magic, as barely any of the four-armed giants survived to tell the tale.
