As a side note in every scout salamander up to two special characters (priests, the cadet commissar [which depending on rolls may or may not come with you regardless of your desires], Ralph, etc.)

Commisars are outside our regular chain of command so expect a resounding no.

It doesn't have to be an order. We can still request their presence.

It worked earlier on.

Alexandria requested them to join a mission and they did it.

Sorry for no updates for awhile, I had one in progress and I lost the ability to use my laptop for a time (still might not get to use it for a while yet). Right now I'm posting to see if anyone is still interested in this continuing, if so I will start this back up as soon as I can.

Though if you guys have lost interest due to my lack of updates for so long I understand :\

Imperial Might - Story Synopsis/Recap
« Reply #434 on: September 21, 2013, 08:09:35 am »

The 'story' so far

Recruited as the Commander of the Volgar 3rd Siege Regiment, you, Mordecai Castronova, and your men were quickly sent out after your Founding to your first warzone. Knowing you had gotten your position through political workings you set out to solidify your relationship with the men of the Volgar 3rd and ensure they are prepared for what to come. Not long afterwards you were brought to the war-room of one Commissar-General Kalman where you and the commanders of the Volgar 1st and 2nd were briefed on the details of the warzone itself.

Your Regiment's first battle, and action in the field took place on Salix where you were ordered to secure a pass against a Chaos force a few thousand strong. Your first days of deployment on Salix were filled with nothing more then one minor skirmish, and the recovery of forces from a downed Devourer Dropship. Though that relative peace ended quickly as the pass you held lived up its name, the Pass of the Martyr, and the throng of the forces of the enemy filled the entire canyon before your defenses that felt suddenly inadequate against the forces brought to bear.

The battle itself was long and grueling, for most of the day your men slogged through the trenches forced into a constant retreat to escape the ever closing horde. Swathes of the enemy were cut down yet for every one you killed it seemed three more stepped forward to take their place, it went on like that for hours till finally you found your forces depleted, weakened, and their morale dipping in the last line of your defenses.

When the enemy charged you had no choice but to stand your ground, your men cut down much the charging legion but it wasn't enough and the forces of Chaos fell upon your entrenched forces like a bomb upon a withered tree. All throughout the trenches the remnants of your soldiers fought the Enemy in close combat, all around you men cut down corrupted men or were cut down themselves and even more horrifying was the World Eaters who scythed through your forces as if they were little more then grass.

Spurred on by a sudden desire for vengeance you charged on of the foul creatures as your guards fell in around you, you slashed back and forth fighting a battle where even the slightest mistake meant death and then it was over. The traitor Marine had made a mistake and as his axe dug into your soldier you slammed you sword through his head killing him instantly. Shortly after you passed out from the wounds you had taken in the battle.

You awoke near on a week later to find that where you once had a left arm there was now a mass of wires, metal, and the like that made up your now bionic arm. Forced to say in recovery for two more weeks you did not get to see the uniting of the Volgar 3rd with the remnants of the 7th Salix, and all the recovery efforts from the war waged on Salix.

That brings you to the present where you, and the rest of the Volgar are assigned to a task force responsible with securing the Yalgo System from the Enemy before its to late. The Volgar 1st, 2nd, and 3rd were assigned to secure the planet Sewei and any tithes it may have while the remainder of the task force is charged with retaking the agri-world Caprica.

It is on Sewei that you found out the man behind your appointment to commander, Lord General Militant Kol Andrun who is also the man in charge of your taskforce. You also discover that the man holds a grudge to your appointment, perhaps he will try to take some measure of revenge against you or already has with the assignment of all Volgar to the frozen hellhole that is Sewei.

Your current mission is to recapture the capital city Feldast, or if its not taken then defend it from the Enemy who will come to take it. You are currently setting out in command of a scout force tasked with forming a foothold in Feldast for the column of troops that will arrive behind you. Feldast must be taken, and whatever tithes that can be found recovered for the good of Mankind.
