And the whole point of our presence not doing much good if we're dead :P.

Not really. I just thought his blushing came from the interest his superior showed to someone who actally would be below him in rank.

Else, While "Inspiring Presence" would sound the most fitting in my book, "Swordmaster" has the most practicall appeal for us. I would think we will have more than one opportunity to show our prowess on the field, and thus gain the Presence another time.
Actually these three traits are unique, you can only get them from this battle and every battle after this one (major ones that is) will have their own unique traits as well. You can also gain traits outside of surviving major battles, but it'll be a lot harder to get any of the unique traits that way :)

Well to get the traits we need to survive the battles first so makes sense to be a better fighter.

We won't make much of a commander if we're dead.

True. But whats going to give us the best chance of winning a fight? A buff to one man's combat abilities, or a buff to his entire force? There are ups and downs to either choice, but the latter has significantly more advantages, and in more prospective situations. As a commander, even though we're a sort of fighting general right now, we're going to be doing commanding most of the time. This has more benefits in the long run, and though awesome sword fighting would be EPIC I think that-

You know what? I just changed my own mind. Sword fighting is fucking awesome. I vote sword mastery.

We're a siege regiment, we will fight them with walls, trenches and guns. If they're in close combat with us, they should already be near-dead or we've fucked up anyway.

+1, since Inspiring Presence is never going to make this and I prefer this to the sword-fighting one.

Also, before everyone goes off trying to get Ogryns etcetera, I think that the first thing we should ask for should be a regimental standard. Because if we're not getting I.P., we might as well get the next best thing.

I would ask why fire can burn two men to death without getting hot enough to burn a book, but then I read "INEXTINGUISHABLE RUNNING KAMIKAZE RADIOACTIVE FLAMING ZOMBIE" and realized that logic, reason, and physics are all occupied with crying in the corner right now.

That was an interesting way to convince yourself but funny so I'm going to agree with you while I back read the thread and see what I'm agreeing with.

So +1 to sword.

Someone who joined the forum less than an hour ago, has two posts, and hasn't read the thread.
Don't you think your vote might be a little bit premature/sockpuppety?

Sorry should I have waited first? I've read it now and still think of the 3 sword is the most fun.

On a different topic.
Can somebody suggest some games with a lot of options and few to no rules on what can be done that are still accepting characters?
Some of the games on here have so many pages it's hard to see whats what.

Look for a minimalist game in the Rtd sub-forum. You generally don't need to sign up (or even read further than the 1st post, which will tell you if it's minimalistic or not) to play.
They also as a rule, have minimal rules.

Nice will do thanks.

What about that Einsteinian Roulette game? I've read about 20 pages and it looks like it has very few rules, but it's like 2000 pages all together and I ain't reading 2000 pages.

Einstenian Roulette is great, but don't be upset if you die really quickly.

Minimalist RTD/shameless plug.
