bah dont tell me there is a problem to modify artillery shells into IEDs. Hell if 21st Century Afghan Peasantry can do it an Imperial soldier in the 41st Millenium should easily be able to do such a thing.

You're forgetting how Imperial tech works. They know how to build one thing. And they do it great. But they don't know how it really works, it's impossible for them to know what to change. The only thing they can do with ANYTHING is making bombs attached to things.

IEDs don't necessarily fall into the "stable explosives" category. Do we even have any techpriests?

Oh.. Oooooooooohhh…. Yeah, the meaning of that just sank in. I don't know nearly enough about WH40K to be playing this. >.>
I mean, I've read like three of the books, and still almost half of this is just going right over my head.

(( Well if something comes up you ain't sure about then ask about it hun, I'm sure one of us can explain it to you.

While we wait I have a question for everybody. Once we've finished kicking chaos ass what reinforcements do we want for the regiment?

Ideally I want more karskin squads and a few ogryn squads, plus a few staff officers like priests and psykers. Then the normal grunts and artillery. ))

What are those? I know what techpriests and psykers are. Both of those would be really useful right now, especially since most of our guys are green.

(( Kasrkin are the cadian guardsmens version of veteran squads. I just like the name Kasrkin better then veteran squad.

Ogryn well I could explain it but I think this sums it up better.

Big, ugly, strong, tough and about as smart as a house trained dog. But they are very very good at making a mess out of anything in the way.
In short, point them at the enemy and say kill, then get the heck out of the way before they trample you into the ground to get to the enemy. ))

you know what would be nice? A Baneblade. But since we're not getting one, we could use some psykers, priests and technopriests. And ogryns. Lots of ogryns. As long as you have dozens of showers you never have enough ogryns.

(( I want a Ratling squad as well. Or 10.

Baneblade ain't happening, but maybe a few Leman Russ once we've done a couple of missions is possible, along with some storm troopers. I'd like some shocktroopers to but thats limited to Cadians as well. ( Damned glory hogging Cadians )

Ratlings

Ratlings are small mutant Abhumans who developed on low-gravity Imperial worlds and are unsuitable for use as close combat troops. The Ratlings instead act as perhaps the Imperial Guard's most skilled snipers, and many a regiment has been saved at the last moment only by the pinpoint accuracy of the tiny Abhumans. Ratlings are also great cooks, being able to make anything out of whatever they find (or pilfer). Ratlings are notorious crooks, organizing gambling rings or using their small size to steal whatever is laying around, whether it be a shiny bullet casing or the senior Commissar's peaked hat. Needless to say, Regimental commanders have noticed that rates of petty theft and drug-dealing invariably increase when a Ratlings squad is attached to the regiment. This tendency means the Ratlings make fine profits on the front-lines, where they smuggle in whatever the soldiers need or want - for a price. ))

(( Well until then, veterans and Ogryns, what siege force worth it's salt doesn't have a battalion of Ogryn to lead the charge?

Btw Adwarf will we get any battalions from elite forces like Death Corps, Catachan or Harakoni Warhawks ))

For now it seems we're saddled with pesky artillery. Curse our rotten luck.

Its possible, but extremely unlikely, just above the baneblade on the possible gains list.

(( Well Death corps at least should be, they're elite siege warfare units.

But I'll take those odds :). ))
