I understand that Dwarf Fortress is not just a game, but a way of life. However, I have lost all inspiration to play. I have lost all knowledge that I have previously had for Dwarf Fortress, and everything else.
So my question to you all that wish to help is: Mind giving a brotha some inspiration to get back into DF and try and learn what the heck to do again?
Thanks.
A new release is somewhat near, or at least more than it was a year ago when the last one got it's wind. But you'll always find marvellous worlds of death caused by infected wounds and not enough soap near the bloody well; a flashy tower made of charcoal with lignite bins for your adventurers to throw; crocodiles caught using puppies as a breadcrumb trail; dwarves delighted to see a cabinet made with the bones of their missing children; a dog that saves the day while beheading that Forgotten Beast and thus deserves a glorified, overengineered shrine... And many, many more.
But it would be of help to know why did you lost the Dwarf Fortress spark in the first place. When was the last time you had a dry grin and sweat all over your forehead, when the sun rose bright, placid, and beautiful, and you were just bothered with scheming a new and overly complex way to get rid of all your unsold microcline mugs?

Got ninja'd, but is really the same idea. Also, when digging for big projects you'll usually bore a lot of holes underground, so try to keep them closed with locked doors as it affects pathing, usually unavoidable with caves. Lowering your population caps before play also helps a lot.
