This thread reminded me to search for one of the best screenshots I can remember.

This is a personal favorite I screencapped. A total "shit just got real" moment.

How do you twist a great axe in someone?

Stop your stroke halfway through a goblin. Then rotate the goblin ninety degrees and proceed.

It's an advanced technique.

One of my masons was down in the caverns for some reason, and got interrupted by a cave crawler. He turned around, and kicked it in the head. No dodging or anything. I would have put him in the military, if he hadn't been my only mason.

Bahahahahaha. I remember that one.

I think the most badass thing I ever saw in DF was my legendary militia commander, fully clad in masterwork adamantine, standing his own ground against a bunch of trolls. He dodged into a magma pit and sank a few z-levels - and the trolls dove in after him. He continued to fight them as they all burned up, and the militia commander was roasted alive inside his suit of armor.

Stymied: Correspondence from Syrupurns, a prematurely ended narrative, told through annual updates.
In Progress: Roomcarnage, a fortress clinging to life beneath a haunted glacier.

To quote myself.  :D

My Mayor went berserk from constant unhappyness, and after he molested some dwarves my legendary Swordsdwarf arrives.
The combat looked something like this.

The Swordsdwarf strikes the Mayor in the right lower arm with his *Iron Short Sword*, and the severed part flies off in an arc.
The Swordsdwarf strikes the Mayor in the left upper arm with his *Iron Short Sword*, and the severed part sails off in an arc.
The Swordsdwarf strikes the Mayor in the right leg with his *Iron Short Sword*, and the severed part sails off in an arc.
The Swordsdwarf stabs the Mayor in the lower body  with his *Iron Short Sword*, tearing the guts.
The Swordsdwarf strikes the Mayor in the left leg arm with his *Iron Short Sword*, and the severed part sails off in an arc.

The Mayor retches.
The Mayor bites the Swordsdwarf in the head, through the *Bronze Helm*.
The Mayor latches on firmly.
The Mayor shakes the Swordsdwarf around by the head, and the severed part sails of in an arc.

that's pretty impressive, shame it's not a screenshot as screenshots seem more realistic, not saying it didn't happen though but dang, thats a lot of limbs to lose.

Reminiscent of quest for the holy grail Black Knight sketch, but the black knight winning like he should! Now what would be totally badass is if the mayor survived... or stands up.

Dear Urist McStockpileDrone
I just found a barrel which contained a wheelbarrow. Inside the wheelbarrow was another barrel. I don't even understand how that is possible.

:D It took me so long finding it but I'm glad I did. Hm. DF-related reminiscing.

Anyone noticed that the Mayor's last severed limb is a "Left Leg Arm"?

Doesn't everybody have one of those?! Next you'll be telling me you don't have a second back eyeball.

Second back eyeball? What?!?! Why does everyone else get all the luck? All I have is a few right upper eyes on my left lower tooth forearm. They're very helpful for wrestling though.

One of my ewes gave birth while being chased by an enraged giant honey badger, the lamb then popped out and gored the monster to death after losing its front leg... Most badass livestock I've seen :-)

I've seen marksdwarves twist embedded crossbows around in enemies' heads before.  That was amusing to picture.

Speaking of crossbows, I had a marksdwarf prove himself recently.  He was a complete noob to the point of not even being a novice marksdwarf yet.  That didn't stop him from saving my legendary (and only) wood cutter, a mother of two or three, by picking up his crossbow and shooting a goblin in the head from 10 tiles away with his first shot.

A squad of 4 moderately trained axedwarves in copper armor beating down an entire ambush of elves, despite being outnumbered and wielding only wood training axes. This was an excruciatingly slow and probably painful experience on the elves' part. I imagine the dwarves were having a hella good time.

Another time a recruit bit an otherwise uninjured troll in half. Yeah. The whole troll. Just, like, with her teeth.

A Balrog(masterworks) wandered in yesterday that has a penchant for breaking joints and tearing off 'left shins'.  Four or five dwarves in a row get their left shin removed.  Considering my desperate situation I ordered all my patients into the militia.  Over many pages of combat reports they have mostly beaten the Balrog into a pulp with their crutches.  Makes me consider making crutches out of lead in the future.

Currently everyone is exhausted or injured.  My jeweler has been in the process of being strangled by the Balrog for many pages now.  Luckily a huge migrant wave has arrived to this shop of horrors.
