An axedwarf gets chopped in the head by a goblin and his outer brain is torned. Four more goblin team up around him and start cutting him up. I leave him for dead and go look at how my other dwarves are doing with the rest of the goblins. The other goblins are defeated, so I reselect my squads and go look for the goblins that had caught that first dwarf alone.

Then I realize I'd forgotten that dwarf is from a Berserk caste (from masterwork mod, don't remember which version), so he feels no pain. He had fought back and killed 3 out of the 4 goblins, the 4th escaping because of the dwarf's speed being crippled by his injured legs.

He lived to fight many more battles, not a single one without me imagining part of his brain still torned, hanging outside of his skull.

epic battle between a one-eyed pterodactyl emitting deadly dust and a fire-breathign dragon on one of my main stairwells. I couldn't see what was happening behind the sea of death, so I kept checking the battle reports and following the FB.

Then my champion walks up, kills the FB is 3 strikes, and promptly goes to the hospital covered in boils from the boiling whatever that the FB had. It less than the time it takes a dwarf to sleep, he recovered and went back to training full time.

No! No! I will not massacre my children. Instead, I'll make them corpulent on crappy mass-produced quarry bush biscuits and questionably grown mushroom alcohol, and then send them into the military when they turn 12...

I saw an alley cat claw out a human swordsman's throat. I know that I never shut up about it, and it's a bit mundane compared to everything else here, but this was on my first day playing this game and made for on hell of a welcome to Dwarf Fortress.

My champion speardorf once bit out a goblin's heart.

In the drunk-fortress succession game i managed to get a dwarf caught in a cloud of  boiling magma, passing out shortly then gets up clean himself and moves on like nothing happened (no wounds even)

I was starting my new orc fortress (masterwork mod) when a bunch of elves ambushed me.
At that point my military was small to non-existent (2 guys with rock mauls) so I thought I was done for.
However, one farmer got left behind. Being a self-respecting orc he fought back with his fists. When my army of two reached him, he was surrounded by elves with cracked skulls yelling taunts at the rest of elves running away.

He fought off entire ambush with bare hands, making him a professional wrestler. His only injury was a small bruise on the left arm.

iirc isn't that just a bug caused when a cave in happens?

In one of my Fallout vaults (Fallout Mod), I witnessed a claptrap kill a giant deathclaw; bare handed. That's why you don't piss off Hyperion Corp..

Kitten claws a goblin off the map. Sadly the goblin survived so the cat didn't get a name or kill to it's name.
i must say also, that was one fast kitty. Anyone ever compared the speed of cats? they can change as much as dwarves it seems.

Still was hilarious watching this kitten chase the thief off the map though.

Dear Urist McStockpileDrone
I just found a barrel which contained a wheelbarrow. Inside the wheelbarrow was another barrel. I don't even understand how that is possible.

According to a quick Google search, house cats top out around 30 miles per hour / 48 km per hour (just a little faster than human world record sprinting speed).

I will run the experiment to completion anyway, however. Even if the only reason why there is a punctured equilibrium in the fortress is because I have been brutally butchering babies
EDIT: I just remembered that dwarves can't equip halberds. That might explain why the squads that use them always die.

Not good with names

Likost, one of the great speardwarves of our time, once pulled perhaps the greatest move on any combat report I've ever seen.  While dodging arrows and blocking strikes with her shield, she grabbed a goblin by its tongue, then with her free hand stabbed it in the head, shattering the skull and destroying the brain.  It was both efficient and beautiful.

One of my militia dwarves, Etur I think it was, fully armed and armoured with steel, faced off against a minotaur. Instead of doing the sensible thing and bashing the bull-headed creature to death, this dwarf bit its throat out. It was a grizzly 2 page combat report of shaking and arterial severing.

I used a cavy pup as bait to lure a spider titan into a trap room, from whence I can drown it.  The water is taking a long time to arrive, so they've had a lot of quality time together.  They've been fighting for a month; so far the cavy pup has bitten every leg and wounded every part of the titan, and the only problem the cavy has is that it's starving.

Fath, a favored hunter/marksdwarf, was on the ramparts and got pincushioned badly by a steady stream of elite archers and then when I opened the door to sally my melee he got pincushioned worse.

Every limb on him was pierced, bleeding, and broken.  Some twice.  His entire stomach was a ruined mess, with pancreas, liver, etc all pierced.

He dragged HIMSELF down from the upper deck, where a local hauled his sorry ruined butt down to the hospital.  30 stiches, unknown bandages and splints, five infections, and a bit of recouperation time...
... he limps a bit.

Limps.
A bit.

Urist McSurgeon: Gentledwarves, we can rebuild him. We have the adamantine. We have the capability to make the world’s first artifact dwarf. Urist McSurvivor will be that dwarf. Better than he was before. Better. Stronger. Faster.

Urist McSurvivor has become The 6000000 Urist Dwarf!
