I've had this tab perpetually open since the reboot/final-round was announced.

Is this still going down? I'm starting to feel bad because of how many times I've Necro-ed this single thread.

I almost went to start updating this, but I figure everyone's lost their notes by now.  So now you're all winners!

Sorry about never getting this finished.  As a consolation, how about the book?

Spoiler alert

The pattern I kept alluding to in figuring out what went where was based on the page number entirely- the symbols were a red herring. 

Elements:  Fibonacci numbers  [7] 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34  [55, 89]
Targeting vectors:  Numbers where digits are equal [5]  22, 33, 44, 66, 77
Objects:  Prime Numbers [14]   7, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47, 53, 59, 61, 67
Concepts:  Squares [6]  4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49 [64, 81]
Enchanting words:  Perfect Numbers [2] 6, 28  [Note- Next one is 496]
Contingency spells:  Weird Numbers [1]  70  [Note- Next one is 836]

Nodi and friends were contingency spells.  Nodi, in particular, was "activate this spell on casting of next spell."  Many people thought it was a one turn delay because they'd cast a spell next turn anyway, which caused it to activate.

Some thoughts:

No one found the control word.  Bigf00t *almost* did; in fact, he tried "Mind control wood" which would have given him an awesome tool, but flubbed it with a 2 pot roll.

The key to counteracting arcane was actually not quicksilver, like at least one person assumed.  It was candy!  I was a bit too generous with arcane objects; I should have made them more unstable.  The Compensation Launcher IIRC did have a flaw where it'd blow on a 1 attack roll.

Vacuum didn't affect Dark at all, and was countered by Force, and to a weaker extent Arcane.

Both Hallow and Corruption (Terraria reference ahoy) had specific rules for how they worked.  Corruption wanted to kill everything; if it was affecting you, it overrode any non-violent action.  Hallow was defined by retribution; it wanted you to kill anyone who attacked anyone unjustly. (IE was an aggressor against someone who had never aggressed.  Self-defense was okay.)  More than anything, though, they hated each other.

Nobody made swordchucks.  I was disappoint.

There were separate reptile and dragon words; the reptile one would have scaled to dinosaurs.  Also disappointment.

The page with eight words targeted the player in slot X; this tripped up several people who thought it was either "target nearest" or fire in a cardinal direction.

I very nearly didn't include the full-body word.

Xantalos threw a bunch of random words together early on, and ended up with a head transformation that would have turned his head into a bow that exploded as soon as he activated it.  He never did.

I wish I had made the wand a little less likely to maim you so people would use it more.
