Spoiler: Disclaimer (click to show/hide)

"Five thousands years ago, when the world was still young and great beasts roamed the untamed landscapes, your name was the synonym of terror - no survivors of your wake were heard of - by the sword or arrow or fire, you could not simply die.
Until the days this world's bravest warriors struck you down on your path to total annihilation, and your guilty soul was locked away in your rotting corpse for five millennia. And those five millennia of imprisonment end now.

But nowadays, nobody remembers the times of your power nor your name - in fact, you yourself cannot bring back the memories of neither your name nor your great power.
But that is the least of your new worries. Your body has long rotten away, leaving measly bones behind. The world around you has changed. Your new path to destruction awaits, and there is no time to lose.
"

The first feeling you get after waking up is the lack thereof - you can't feel any warmth or cold around you, nor can you feel hunger or thirst. You are a five-thousand-year-old soul trapped within a perfectly-preserved skeleton of a dragon, but you can't remember who you even were before.
You turn around, only to see a pile of small bones and rusted swords, which you presume to be your last victims. The walls and floor of this round room are weathered away and dry, held up by a dozen columns. There is only one way out in front of you, and the entrance looks ruined, as does the rest of the room.  You can't see what's on the end of this tunnel, but there is no other way out, and your wings are deadweight now.

Well, you know what they say - amnesia is one of the easiest ways to force self-reinvention!

From this day on, you shall be a paragon of all that is good and right. You shall protect the innocent and fight evil wherever you may find it.

Try to remember if we have magic. Specifically, flying magic.
If not, proceed to end of tunnel.

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

Try to remember if we have magic. Specifically, flying magic.
If not, proceed to end of tunnel.

As you search through the remains of your draconic memory, you realize that in the past you used to kill and destroy with the power of ice and coldness - great blizzards and avalanches are only a few of the deeds you remember creating. You cannot remember any of the magical formulas unfortunately, at least not for the time being.

Attempt to breathe fire.
+1
and try to roar loudly.

You desperately try to breathe fire, but to no avail - you are merely a skeleton, you can't breathe air, much less fire. You can't seem to be able to roar either, remaining silent.
As you leave the room you find yourself on a fork, with three paths to take. You can't see what's inside any of the ways, but the dim light your soul created in your skull does allow you to notice that the front way is not a measly tunnel but a full-sized room.

Check the room. Maybe there's treasure in there.

Enter the middle room, and look for something that could help us remember the power of ice.

Plus we don't have enough legit bad guys here.

Being good improves our image. If we are good and people say we are good, and we prove we are good, we get to:
  • Kill people (villains) and take their money with nobody complaining.
  • Receive adoration of the masses.
  • Obtain unquestioned rule of tracts of land, which we utilize to turn a good profit for the rest of our immortality.

If we are evil, we:
  • Kill people (anybody) and take their money while they shout "I'm being oppressed" to all the heroes of the vicinity.
  • Are generally disliked by the masses aside from idiot cultists or something.
  • May obtain rule of a land, but it is likely to be hounded by heroes that seek to destroy our legacy (see: previous life).

I am of the opinion that being good and productive will net us a better chance at not getting imprisoned for 5000 years again. It's all in the publicity, you see. Good people invest into other people, then get rewards back scot-free. Evil people ruin investments and profit from short-term destruction, eventually bringing death upon themselves.

Disregarding benefits for a second and putting ourselves in the viewpoint of our character, who is a dragon soul trapped in its body for 5000 years as a result of being murderated, likely revenge hungry, and above all a DRAGON, who are not known for being kind and generous, even less one like we were, what IC justification have we for turning good?
At all?
