You can only privatize once, until you nationalize again I think? Worth a try anyway! Since you're still a new nation, if there was ever a time to do it it's now.

Nationalizing is free though, at the cost of a stability hit. Other than arresting people, what can immediately boost it? And can you boost it enough with 300k to cover the drop from nationalizing->privatizing?

Which means it might be useful to keep your GDP down while you're benefitting from foreign aid. And it will let you buy a bunch of foreign aid.

No it won't. 15mil$ gdp is like 1.125million money to get through foreign aid but you lose "significant" stability and only get 300k$ in return. Plus it pushes you to free market.

It won't work. I did the math on all of this stuff before.

gdp != growth. It requires 4 turns to recoup the loss from privatizing with foreign, and at 15gdp that is less than 70k worth of cost. On top of that, the growth continues going forward, so it's a good deal.

now that i have a grand total of 25% in the totally democratic assembly that is absolutely not just a front for my dictatorship, can we engage in geopolitical shenanigans of the third degree?

Ah it seems you are right about gdp vs growth. Still not worth it. Significant stability hit. You'd have to be able to afford to offset that. Of course it would help if the designer didn't use bullshit qualitative descriptors. It might seem like it prevents math crafting but really it just costs a little bit of time to trial and error the number. May as well provide it up front.

For instance if the stability hit is low enough it would be effectively non-existent because you could just repeat the action over and over forever, it would be infinite money, just kinda slow. I am still pretty sure it won't work.

The Glorious Army of Goeiesia has invaded and defeated a nation that would dare to imitate Bdthemag's great nation of Rhodesia. Take that, 'Nuwe Rhodesia'!

Just about everything I've read about privatizing is that it hurts way more than it helps.  This isn't to say it doesn't have a use, it's like a worse hitting and higher paying off globally available blood diamonds.  It's best use is an emergency cash influx.

Also as long as you are below 250gdp or so blood diamonds are worth it.  Just buy a school every 3 times you use it and you'll gain in everything but reputation.

The thing is, I'm not sure entirely how much stability matters. Sure, it makes rebels, but you can just gas em later, amiright?
