And with Gewere, The U.B.A. is at 25 members! Until we decide on how to run ourselves, I therefore appoint myself as Coalition Leader (Impressive title yet to come) and give myself sole power regarding the future and direction of the U.B.A.

And with that, it's now time to ask for more input! From the looks of it, I see only two active African-based alliances. The African Union (The main powerhouse in Africa, with 100 people) seem to be rather peaceful. The much smaller African Legion (9 Players, all 200-500 GDP. Western aligned.) are also there, focused on spreading freedom. Do we contact either of these two alliances? Do we wait? Do we plan to attack the dirty american-backed legion? Your supreme leader implores you for opinions.

TAKE THE AFRICAN LEGION, BURN THEIR WOMEN, SALT THEIR VILLAGES AND STEAL THEIR LAND

The African Union we shall be peaceful and friendly towards. UNTIL WE OUTGROW THEM AND THEN WE BURN THEIR WOMEN TOO

So does anyone know what the gameplay differences are between the West and East are? Do they care much if your economic policy is to the right/left? Not having anything else to go on, I'd vote we all kiss up to the East, because, communism yay.
Not many. You can buy airplanes from either the East or West (Along with rifles, once you get to WW2 surplus tech) with the Russian planes being more expensive (Not entirely sure, but the price may be reversed for rifles. AK's being cheap, M16's being expensive.) You can buy from either when non-aligned, and I imagine that you can't buy from the other side if your alignment is dedicated towards another. You can also ask for help from your Bloc when at war with a member of an opposing bloc, and you get a random chance of getting stuff. I do remember however, that the creator of the game does intend for alignments to mean more in the future, and playing a non-aligned nation will have multiple negatives to it.

We should just stay non-aligned for now, although it'd be cool to be one of the only east-aligned alliances in Africa. Also, if for whatever reason ANYONE asks us what website we're from, be vague. Just so we don't have people reading our thread, and whatnot.

It's not a good way to make lots of cash, as I believe the price changes based on how many people are buying/selling, and resets every month. If you want to make money from oil, produce a lot of it and sell it on the forums to different nations.

I've seen a low of 36K and a high of 49K. These seem to fluctuate randomly and very quickly, with some inertia but not much. You could very reasonably make an extra 20K a turn buy buying and selling oil, since you're limited to 5 oil trades.

Looks like the glorious Vodka is winning, so chances are we'll be an Eastern bloc nation.

Also, I hate asking for referrals but you can apparently can get cash for referring people. Would be cool if at least one person said I sent you, so I can at least get 100k. If not, that's cool too. Not a big deal.

I THINK it gives you a chance of gaining growth OR gaining foreign investment (wich you can then nationalize with another policy).
