Every time someone makes a nation not in Africa, I contemplate suicide.

Since we have downtime though, I'd like to ask you guys for some input about our alliance. How should it be run? Purely democratic, one person in charge, council of people, etcetera. Should we have a charter of some kind? Should we best sided with the West, East, or neither? What is the goal of our alliance?

the goal of our alliance is to play a round of global thermonuclear war

and win

Our goal should probably be to establish some sort of peace treaty with the others.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Don't do this, ever. Your GDP grows by your growth amount every turn, you just have to wait.

Also, just invited all of the people who've posted their nation name so far. We should be just over twenty members at this point, yay.

No, by default you start with 3 million GDP growth per turn. Your country will naturally grow over time. To make growth get hiring naturally, focus on increasing your leader approval and country stability. If these two are high, then it'll improve growth and quality of life over time. Once you get to about 150 GDP, then you can declare war to gain more GDP. This is an easy, fast way to do it but you have to ensure your reputation doesn't drop too low.

I also just bought my first few planes, if anyone has some spare oil to send that'd be great.
