Plus, wars are great... until you either:
A) Look at your reputation and realize you are Axis or Mad.
B) Look at who you are fighting, and realize you attacked someone with low reputation to raise your own, but they are active and going to curb stomp you without help from your alliance.

After getting really close to becoming axis of evil, I think I am done with wars for now. I have 25k troops at elite level, and hopefully an airforce after the next turn, so I will just let stability make my growth hit 15+ before I decide to even think about wars. Plus, I need to get my tech level up, cause 25k troops is nothing at higher GDP levels.
Is elite training really worth it? I currently have 33k troops at undisciplined rabble, and am spending my money towards the tech (have like 6/40 I think). Also got a meagre airforce, and the soviet union just put me 10% of the way towards chemical weapons, surprisingly.
I have no clue, but I don't have the growth to spend getting a ton of troops, so I just trained the one's I have up to elite. I mean, would you rather attack some guy at 33k undisciplined, or 25k elite?

edit: Went ahead and attacked some guy even though I told myself I was going to be peaceful. He was at the highest rep level, so I went back to mad dog.... but he only had 5k troops so it was an instant win, and he had 500 something GDP, so I literally gained about 25% of my previous GDP in one move. He had no alliance, so I feel (okishly) safe, even though he has like 40 freaking growth and if he gets on and decides to curb stomp me... game over.

edit2: Also we really should get an IRC channel, cause using the forums for any sort of tactical gameplay is a horrible idea, seeing as how we can be googled in 2 seconds.

Argh, stupid people recruiting 10+ men into the army after I reduced them to under 4k but was unable to attack because my army 'needed to reorganize'...

How long does 'reorganizing' take anyhow? Or is it keyed to a specific real-world time?

Until the next turn rolls over, so up to 12 hours if you attack as soon as the month changes.

On a different note, how is our chain of command going to work? We probably are going to need to figure that out at some point.
Probably, but until everyone wants to focus on that I'd be more than happy to retain my role as Supreme Leader of the U.B.A.

Well seeing as how you *are* the founder and creator of the U.B.A. I wouldn't mind following you unless you told us all to do something stupid, like attack the AU or Goons in our current state... cause we would all die horrible, horrible deaths.

Hahah! What a silly proposition! I would NEVER do that to my own people, the entire thought is absurd! Now excuse me while I set up an offshore bank-account, for absolutely no reason.

The people who stand to benefit the most from a player made UN or whatever are smaller alliances like us, as then there's a greater chance of larger alliances fighting each other if we start getting stomped. So I'd just keep it friendly, and take note of what things aren't kosher, as well the frustrations of specific groups. And obviously try to keep them from going anti-commie, but that would be a pretty hard line for them to take.

How aggressive and terrifying are the Goons? I started in the Middle East for oil, not realizing they pretty much owned the damn place. I've created an army of 20K, got them to elite, and crushed a few idiots with undisciplined rabble to make up for the growth loss from my conscription.

They're fine, really. The only alliance that REALLY tried to declare wars for no raisin were the JIDF (/pol/), but that's only because their leadership was so awful, he collectively managed to get everyone to hate his alliance and all future incarnations of his alliance.

I join your pacifism, as I prefer to improve QoL and get massive growth that way.

Delicious, delicious GDP. And occasionally free frozen yogurt, if you go on Thursdays.

A lot of things, unsurprisingly.

So as long as I don't go invading Goons I'm fine?
Probably. Don't invade anyone in an alliance, period.
