Plus, wars are great... until you either:
A) Look at your reputation and realize you are Axis or Mad.
B) Look at who you are fighting, and realize you attacked someone with low reputation to raise your own, but they are active and going to curb stomp you without help from your alliance.
After getting really close to becoming axis of evil, I think I am done with wars for now. I have 25k troops at elite level, and hopefully an airforce after the next turn, so I will just let stability make my growth hit 15+ before I decide to even think about wars. Plus, I need to get my tech level up, cause 25k troops is nothing at higher GDP levels.
Is elite training really worth it? I currently have 33k troops at undisciplined rabble, and am spending my money towards the tech (have like 6/40 I think). Also got a meagre airforce, and the soviet union just put me 10% of the way towards chemical weapons, surprisingly.
I have no clue, but I don't have the growth to spend getting a ton of troops, so I just trained the one's I have up to elite. I mean, would you rather attack some guy at 33k undisciplined, or 25k elite?
edit: Went ahead and attacked some guy even though I told myself I was going to be peaceful. He was at the highest rep level, so I went back to mad dog.... but he only had 5k troops so it was an instant win, and he had 500 something GDP, so I literally gained about 25% of my previous GDP in one move. He had no alliance, so I feel (okishly) safe, even though he has like 40 freaking growth and if he gets on and decides to curb stomp me... game over.
edit2: Also we really should get an IRC channel, cause using the forums for any sort of tactical gameplay is a horrible idea, seeing as how we can be googled in 2 seconds.
