Just sold about 10mbbl of oil, and then prospected for oil, immediately putting me back where I started. Definitely a smart move, though it would have sucked if I failed. I was surprised that I could go significantly over .15% of my GDP.

So after a slowish start I'm up to 114 GDP while I managed to bump up my growth up to 11 million. Might go for 12 if I get enough cash for another HA by the end of the turn. Very stable and with good life quality, my next goal is to expand my army up to atleast 20k and after that focus on upgrading their tech and prospecting for oil. Afterwards, I'm thinking of picking on someone small and poorly conncted, need to find me some targets.

If you have more growth than oil, it'll decreases, so either convert the growth to soldiers, either buy oil.

What's the fastest way to raise reputation? Because THESE targets:

are all freaking Gandhi-like and my reputation plummeted.

edit: Went ahead and privatized, used the 300k to train troops and hold elections. My stability went down a bit, my reputation didn't really move much (but hopefully it went a bit higher), but since my QoL is good, stability should go up soonish. Also I've moved from command to mixed economy, and my goal is free market econ so that's nice.

I need growth pretty badly so I can get troops, and it's expensive and *slightly* risky to get growth without being free. I know I can potentially go -1, but the market trends up, so my growth over time will rise. If I ever get set with a nice GDP and plenty of growth I can go to mixed to keep everything stable.

edit: I expect to get hit pretty soon with a war as well, because I am at Mad Dog level of rep, so attacking me would give GDP as well as rep and stuff. I only have 19k standard troops. I'm waiting for this tic to happen, then I'm going to jump to 25k troops and train them up quite a bit while trying to get free market and raise my QoL so everything rises so my rep will rise. No more blood diamonds for me, hehe.

Best to stay central where you can easily increase QoL and approval imo. Having those positive will increase your stability which will then give you a base +1 growth per turn. You don't really need a ton of growth, anyway. Think about the virtual people and how they'll be exploited by the imperialist free market!

I'm not sure Command is much better than Mixed, since Mixed can do all the actions. Maybe there's something else to it.
