Why are you starting a fire in the first place?

Wait.

You're planning to start a fire, so you can eat the fire and heal yourself with it.

...Are you familiar with the laws of thermodynamics?

It doesn't actually break any laws. I'm consuming the fire as it consumes the fuel, indirectly acquiring energy from what the fire is burning. It's like digestion, but with more flames.

I'm just inside a large cave. I can find things outside, and presumably there are vines and such growing within the shelter of the cave.

With her screams cut short by the lapping waves of the lake, Annie finds herself being dragged merrily along by a strong current.  Crimson flowed away from the incredibly deep gash along her hand and arm.  That really needed tending.  Unfortunately that is difficult to attend while being dragged by a mass of water.

Trying to concentrate against the ebbing pain that sears across her wound, Annie attempts to swim against the current.  She had a terrible feeling that the exeetion would be worth it, for powerful currents such as this one usually marked waterfalls!

Yeah, you need to gain net energy from the fire in order to derive sustenance from it, that means that it needs to consume a substantial amount of energy to offset the cost of starting it. If you do burn stuff only in the cave you could avoid the penalty from the rain, but that presents its own problems (mainly that you would have to drag everything into the cave).

Oxegyn could be a problem, but if you don't make the fire huge you should be just fine (although its possible that it might consume all the air and you would die of suffocation, but that's pretty unlikely).

That was amazing. Though really, I'd rather have done this than do sensible boring stuff and live. DIE A MACHO RATHER THAN LIVE A PANSY

...
Next round I'm thinking of using the bee from Honey Nut Cherrios.
Sadly there probably won't be a next round. I have oodles of ideas for other games to run, and although its possible that I will eventually get back to eventually, its pretty unlikely.
And yeah, sorry on killing you like that I really didn't expect you to take +85 damage in a single turn even with the -2 penalty.

Large enough that he doesn't know how large it is.
EDIT: The entrance is pretty small, but it widens out at the back, extending much farther then the light will go.
