Ooh, the possibilities of multi-racialism. As I see it, the gnomes could be the race to unite them all. Well, the living ones, that is.

Quote from: Orcish-Gnomish Peace Treaty-Council
"Indeed, High-Warlord Grok'ugh-talhagh, It seems that these are very viable terms for both of our sides. All that would be left now is the blood-pact. Standard Procedure, you see."

The Orc awnsers with a short grunt and a nod. He is about to ready his knive, obviously trying to draw blood from his own hand, when he is however interrupted by the Gnome;

"Oh dear, wait, no! Not this kind of blood-pact. I am very sorry, I really should have explained beforehand. What I meant was a gnomish bloodpact....."

Hey. We already got a freaking troll - nothing should shock those gnomes anymore, right? Thou seriously, if the gnomes handle that "perk" the right way, there is much power to be had. Specialists for every job, straight out of your own lines. And - as I would have read it - quite a bit smarter than the "original" version too!
Frankly, you could but.... Let me just say that most of your Neighbours aren't all that friendly. Of course, there's all ways the whole "rape" thing, I don't judge.

Create a permanent light source that uses ambient energy example the sun, to grow. Continue refining the designs on the mining machine with emphasis on using the least material but still making it sturdy.

Wait a second. I think we struck oil. Try to light the black sand!

Preferably away from anything that is flammable or people, specially clothing.

Yeah.... The whole cross-breeding things has it's ups and downs. Trolls are very- VERY durable. They regenerate body parts and large amounts of their body as long as they aren't decapitated, don't bleed out, or are hit by fire or acid. Gnomes aren't as durable, but can work safely around Fire and Acid, which are very effective weapons. Ups and Downs.

Dont ask me why, but this thought cracked me up immensly. Just had to do it. But sure, like our trusty GM said, Ups and Downs.

Edit: Because I can do even worse. Insomnia at its finest, I guess. Pretty sure I killed the joke meanwhile, at least for me. For the most part.

Wait, Gnomes are immune to fire and acid?

I don't think so, but trolls are typicly depicted as being more or less instakilled by that stuff, so it would be much safer to use our gnomes for those things.

I dunno, generally I've seen them depicted as not regenerating damage done by them, maybe taking extra damage.
Since gnomes don't regenerate anyway (well, ok, technically they do, but not in any kind of combat-useful timeframe), and have vastly less durability, it's not really much of an advantage.

At this point are gnomes are more numerous and thus more expendable. And they have better scientific minds for screwing around with those things in the first place.

Both true.

We should move the shelter over to that hole so we can have some cool air come into the shelter.

Since I'm not currently home, I can't link the actual picture, but trolls quite litteraly regenerate anything, as long as the survive the battle with majority of their body intact, they survive the encounter, and the part they try to regenerate isn't burmed by fire or by acid. Gnomes will eventually heal from burns of fire or acid, trolls however, will not.

((I'm not much for double posting, but I've been itching to write an update. FORGIVE ME))

Sham'Yek, feeling like they may have struck oil, grabs a stray tumble weed and sticks it in the small fire, and moves about ten feet away from camp. He then tosses the little wad of black sand onto the burning bush, and scampers away. A few seconds later, a sound which seemed to be thunder and a cannon going off together erupted from the spot, and a small crater remained where they had both been. Sham'Yek had been right to a degree, but he figures that the substance must be Gunpowder-Infused Oil Sand! Perhaps there was a way to separate the two substances?

The previous Gnome who had designed the mining machine before once more sat down and wracked her brain for ideas. After a few long hours, she feels like she may have a way to design a mining machine, whose hull was cased in Titanium to resist force. She also adds in a way to add a GPS co-ordinate, allowing it to return to the spot it began mining in case of collapse. Pleased with her work, she moved on to trying to create an ambient lighting machine. This was quite a bit harder, and after a goodnight's sleep, she feels like it could be accomplished, but it would consume more parts than she was willing to use. She stores the plans into her head for safe keeping.

The gnomes ponder moving to the hole for some fresh air, but upon closer inspection, no air seems to be coming out but stale, cave air. It must be a series of caves that don't breech the surface.

Meanwhile, The sandstorm outside has subsided, and the Desert sun is shining across the view able desert.

Good Gnod, we've weaponised sand!

Collect a bunch of it! Use it for weapons and mining!
